UCLA beats AAC Champ SMU
There was a lot of complaining from Temple fans about the Bruins getting a tourney bid.

No the refs beat AAC Champ SMU, wasn't even a close shot.

Let's face it: if the game is that close you can't whine if you lose. SMU put themselves in a position to get beat.

Still goal tending call should have been reviewed. That's a really dumb rule in this day and age.

Which part is dumb? Not reviewing it?

Should have been a no-call, but if it was, and the ref doesn't blow his whistle, the UCLA player who grabbed the rebound would have tied the game on an easy put-back layup.

That's what I said, any foul should not be based on human judgement alone.

And the call would have stood. Ball was on the way down, over the rim. By rule, that is goal tending. So reviewing it would not have changed the outcome.

Just because UCLA won and will now likely go to the Sweet 16 doesn't mean they deserved to make the field. They are hardly the first undeserving team to make the field.

What is Quo's obsession with these thread titles? Any time a team from any conference beats a conference champion, I bet he'll start a thread with that title.

He missed a couple already. "Arizona beats SWAC champ Texas Southern" and "Notre Dame beats CAA champ Northeastern". 07-coffee3

Another Average Conference.

Yeah the AAC has a little egg on their face with all the whining about UCLA getting an invite.

If cincy loses, the AAC will be 2 and Q

Aye, aye, aye how many people are gonna justify UCLA's bid with their win? George Mason made the Final Four once upon a time, it doesn't mean that they deserved to get in.

This.

Xavier destroyed Ole Miss too. Texas looked anemic against Butler.

Looked to me like it was outside the rim and he was reaching for a rebound.

Texas was ahead until Butler's top player got injured. It was 45-43 when Texas turned it over with 2:15 left and Butler got a critical 3 pointer. Butler went 1 for 18 at one point from the field. So which game were you watching?

No, by the time the UCLA player grabs the ball, the SMU player is turned the wrong way and the UCLA player only has to put the ball on the glass and in, or dunk it.
