For several weeks we were able to have a good discussion on the sb board, but it appears the haters are back in full force. I'm not sure why the mods allow the name calling to continue.

It always devolves when Tom the broken record arrives.

We who have posted reasonable arguments, for quite some time now, for LU inclusion in the SBC, are often refuted by a few on the SBC boards with huge biases against LU. If we posts there or respond there, we can expect the hotheads to dominate the thread and rally their peers to their positions. I include myself in also having this experience. Fortunately, there are several SBC posters who present rational positions for reasonable dialogue.

I don't want to see anyone get in trouble so it is best to not call out a mod in public as that is a violation. I am not saying you are or did and I am not singling out anyone. It is frustrating to see people not being able to have a decent conversation and resort to calling us HIV and bigots. I would try to PM their mods because they are level-headed people and flag any inappropriate posts that aren't part of the AUP.

Hopefully the non hateful posters that we have been talking too prior to this won't take the negative posts seriously. A history of rational discussion from us has to mean something.

Well...some of us have day jobs you know.

You know full well how the ALL (Anti Liberty League) works. They all hit at the same time, usually late at night, and usually by the time a mod catches it...its 4 pages down and everyone is arguing it. There are not enough of us to catch every single thing.

That is why you are provided with a report post button. If you click that button, I get a gigantic alert message that I have to deal with before it annoys me to no end. If you inbed a post calling out mods, not only are you breaking our rules, you're also getting way to much attention brought to yourself instead of the one's you want dealt with.

Reason and common sense always prevail.

And No, I am not generally level headed. I'm just more level headed because I respect Liberty and its fans. Go take a shot at Arkansas State and my level headedness quickly goes away.

Hope you didn't think I was calling you out. That wasn't my purpose. You've been a voice of reason through the conversations. I'll start to flag the posts I find offensive. Herd zoned is a habitual offender with the name calling. Being called a bigot is not something I take kindly to.

As a fan without any inside knowledge of the working that goes on behind closet door of the conference by the movers and shakers, i just wanted to visit your message board and let you know that I have no problem with Liberty becoming a member of the conference.

If I have made any posts on the Sun Belt board that has offended any of you, please that was not my intent.

We always welcome new posters if they want to add constructive posts to the conversation. We aren't afraid of people who don't see eye to eye as long as they are respectful.

That is generally the crux of the problem. Many people equate respect with agreement.

I just have to tell you what happen to me today. For work I had to make a trip to one of our sites that's tech support employee is a Georgia State grad. We talked about their basketball run this season. Also talked a little football and I told him I hoped that the panthers played better this year. He told me that his kids said do we have to go to the football game and just see another loss. The last thing I said to him before I left was "please don't lose to Liberty".
There football team is one big dumpster fire and that is all I could say to him just because I did not want to rub it in on him.

Liberty is the one team many teams play that is the one game they don't want to lose to. GaSt will be up for the LU game and the LU players will be up their second FBS game. You may be surprised how many LU fans attend. With the JMU game now cancelled I'm thinking about a short drive to Atlanta for the game. I know one thing, I will be able to find a seat.

He's been called it before. Went on an Anti CUSA rant last year talking about how the SBC was a better league. CUSA fans immediately decided we should never be allowed in their fair league as a result.
