Note how other teams situational hit, and move the runner into scoring position. This is the norm with most team...not for us.

Williamson really laickadaisical field balls in LF. They scored that RBI hit a double, but it should have been a single and an E-7.

Out defense is just embarrassing. That RBI single should have been our 4th error of the game. McCanna has lost it.

McCanna seems to have lost significant mojo in the fourth.

5 consecutive hits. Appeared they had runner at the plate, but it appears Reeves missed the tag.

It's hard to pitch when you have absolutely no defense behind you.

Problem is the runner never touched home. He knew it. He came back to tag the plate AFTER he was ruled safe.

Pitching seems generally to be inconsistent at best this year, at least the starters.

McCanna is not pitching bad tonight. In fact, I'd argue it's his best start in over a month. The defense has killed him.

Love having this game on TV. Could see clearly how McCanna's high pitches got him in trouble ... and his success in the latter stages of T4 as he got his deliveries "down in the zone."

The Med Center glare also had a star turn ... into the eyes of the broadcasters, not the batters, though. Impressive sunset golden-light tones from certain camera angles, too. Direct backlighting from the 3rd-base view.

RE: Rice vs. USM (Friday)
Kevin deserved much, much better. No official error that inning, but the D was awful, and resulted in at least one, if not two, of those three runs. Fortunately, he stranded two runners by striking outKKKKK the final two batters. Offense better wake up, and it would be nice if we would try to manufacture a run, for a change, when we get the leadoff runner on.

Reeves cannot get around on Carroll's fastball-- every foul ball is off to the right side....leadoff walk. Nice AB. Can we please play small ball here with a slow runner on 1B.
Taylor swinging away...fly out. And we one again REFUSE to capitalize on a leadoff baserunner. The OG has totally abandoned the bunt, and we never hit behind the runner.
Warren line single. Runners on 1B and 2B, one out.
Gray RBI single! 02-13-banana Runners on 1B and 3B, one out. Come on, Connor, get a ball to the OF.
Teykl first pitch RBI single! 02-13-banana Runners on 1B and 2B, one out.
Wild pitch moves both runners into scoring position, one out. MUST put the ball in play here (if not a free pass).
Williamson struck out looking. Awful, just awful. We don't know the meaning of situational hitting.
Chandler struck out swinging.
Just shaking my head. 03-hissyfit Again, one of the most inefficient offenses I can remember.

Good guys retake a 4-3 lead heading to the top of the fifth inning.

RE: Rice vs. USM (Friday)
Strong, quick 1-2-3 inning for Kevin (fly out, strikeoutKKKKKK, infield pop).

Stainback leadoff walk. Again, let's not waste this.
Byrd hit by pitch. Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs. Need to capitalize here.
New pitcher for USM, RHP Cord Crockwell (5 app, 3 starts, 2-0, 20.0 IP, 4.05 ERA, .324 BAA, 1 BB, 12 Ks)...
Reeves takes two strikes while showing bunt-- what is going on here!!!...RBI single! 02-13-banana Runners on 1B and 3B, no outs. Keep it going. Need to get at least one more out of this.
Taylor RBI ground out. 02-13-banana Runner on 1B, one out.
Warren first pitch fly out to CF. Two outs.
Gray lined out to CF. Tough break.

Good guys up their lead to 6-3 heading to the top of the sixth inning.

And our D comes through again-- leadoff E-4. Must we give back runs every time we get some breathing room?

RE: Rice vs. USM (Friday)
Another strong inning for Kevin-- induces a doubleplay to erase the leadoff error, the strikes outKKKKKKK the final batter. Best outing since first month of season, and we needed it to preserve the bullpen. Hopefully, he can go one more. The key has been throwing strikes and getting ahead in the count. It's really that simple.

Teykl ground out to P.
Williamson ground out to 2B.
Chandler line single. Two outs. Caught stealing. And we're 0-2 SBs tonight...and USM's Robinson shows why he's thrown out 46% of runners so far this year.

Good guys lead 6-3 heading to the top of the seventh inning.
