IIRC Cincy challenged them last weekend.

Nothing like this. Irish have UK on the ropes!

Regardless who wins, the missed free throws will loom large.

RE: ND-Kentucky
it's got to be a shot clock violation...

one thing that will come to this is like the NBA, the shot clock last 5 seconds will go to tenths of a second.

Mad props to UK, they earned my respect in this game and so too did Notre Dame.

Feel bad for those ND kids.

They needed a better coach in the last few minutes.

RE: ND-Kentucky
man, this could wind up being one of the best coaching final 4's ever one would think.. Got Calipari and Ryan already. Going to have Izzo/Pitino and then maybe Coach K. Quite possibly when all is said and done, 4 hall of fame coaches(really probably even if Gonzaga beats Duke quite frankly, Few is getting up there in wins and a final 4 would help cement his place one would think)...

Great game! Hate it for the Notre Dame players, but Kentucky earned a tough win.

Mike Brey has done fine at ND and without him, they wouldn't even have been in position to win late. UK just showed the mettle they had to.

Given the vast talent disparity between Kentucky and Notre Dame, you have to wonder how good of a coach Calipari is. With a good coach, Kentucky probably wins by 15-20?

He's the best recruiter since John Wooden, or at worst #2 behind Dean Smith, and yes that goes a looooong way, because no sport is so dependent on sheer player talent and skill than is basketball. But he has only one national title despite all that talent he's had the last 8 years.

Great game. Kentucky is a pretty damn awesome team.

ND fought hard but kind of broke down there at the end. They had a damn good season.

RE: ND-Kentucky
I think Kentucky may have just beaten the best coached team in the tournament. Nobody has gotten as much out of their players as has Notre Dame. No doubt Wisconsin has physical size and will be a tough out. But if Kentucky gets past Wisconsin I like their chances against the rest of the field. I think Kentucky will match up very favorably with the rest.

Kentucky made every field goal attempt they shot in the last 12 minutes of that game. Look at the chart, here. Their last miss of the game was at 12:16 remaining. You think another coach could somehow improve on that?

UK made all of their FG attempts in the last 12 minutes and still only outscored ND by 6 points in that stretch (24-18). UK could have won by 15-20, if they were playing a team that wasn't as good as ND was tonight.

I think the thing we are going to find out is that Notre Dame was the absolute worst matchup for Kentucky.
