Man, I wish Clemson would hire him back! I know it's not likely, but the thought of Barnes coaching against UNC again just has to put a smile on your face...

Barnes isn't a bad coach, and most people in Austin really like him. But with a new AD in place (who by the way told Barnes he could keep his job if he fired his assistants) he was eventually going to be fired. Despite the b-ball talent in Texas, football will always be first by an overwhelming margin and UT's support for the BB program is evident.

Mrs. Barnes will appreciate being back near home. He and the mrs. are from Southwest NC - he from Hickory, she from near Boiling Springs IIRC. You are on the edge of UT country there so Knoxville will make her happy.

He is not a bad coach but he isn't a great one either. He will fit better at this new UT than he did at his old UT.

He's a great recruiter. He seems to do less than expected with the players he's brought into his team over the years.
