LSU and Auburn did well with players Mark Richt had to kick off the Georgia team for criminal acts. Alabama, not so well.

Of course, Metzenberger and Marshall went to JC first.
But really, schools with talent bases like this really shouldn't be signing these players. Let them have chances at FCS.

RE: Alabama kicks off former UGA player
Alabama was stupid for recruiting him. And Saban looks desperate doing so.

The NCAA needs a rule that if an athlete gets kicked off a team for criminal behavior, that athlete cannot re-sign with any institution.

I agree with you Bullet, but one fact remains about which you have not spoken. Why is it that Richt signs all of these guys in the first place? Every year Georgia kicks a few out. It sounds like more kudos goes to the Georgia administration than to the Georgia coaching staff.

After enough screw ups, it's only prudent to sort out the bad apples. But a better solution would be some way to sort them out before they get on campus. Incidents like these reflect badly on the coaching staffs, as well as the university itself. It's the worst kind of PR campaign.
