I guess my humor zoomed over your headbone.

Oh I got it. I am just fearful that this whole thing will break out into a flame war. We are due one.

You were supposed to ask me about my unprovked attack. It actually involved Winston70.

Ok, Ill bite. What about your unprovked attack?

There was a discussion on the belt board (I think about TV or something similar) and the conversation turned to the size of cities and their surrounding communities. I recalled Winston70 once saying something about the Ruston metro area which I found hilarious, and commented on it.

BRT came into the conversation with a vengance, all butt hurt I guess and said I was making an unprovked attack. He wrote paragraphs and stuff.03-lmfao

Well that was lame, I thought you were getting him to set you up for a joke or something, at least an entertaining story. Instead we get you cracking yourself up saying "guess you had to be there"

Back to topic, I used to be pro going to 16 but now think that's too large but I do think 14 is prob. better than 12 for a conference that spans so far. We've got a Texas/Gulf side and a midatlantic & FL side. It keeps it interesting imo.

Thank you for that. I was afraid that I had lost my mind or something then I realized it wasn't just me.

Why fight 15 other teams for the one bid in MBB, or why have teams in your conference you never play but once every 4 years in football. Cutting the pie into 16 slices doesn't mean you get more pie, it just means you get more pie holes.

As I remember it, after you once again lampooned Ruston for being the small college town that everybody already knows that it is, I simply pointed out that Ruston and La Tech were both good enough for the university presidents in CUSA that voted to invite us to join the conference. I also pointed out how ridiculous it is for you to constantly blame Tech for the fact that CUSA passed on adding ULL when La Tech, UTSA, UNT, FIU, MT, FAU, and WKU were all added. It's been three years now. How long is it going to take you to get over that fact?

THIS!! WE are three years into CUSA and have yet to play Marshall in football during the regular season. Imagine what 16 teams would do.

I personally think we should have a crap pile of 8 team conferences so the NCAA tourney would be forced to take more auto-bids instead of at large P5 teams.

Yes. 18 in fact.

SUNWACMACUSA but maybe just the SUNWACMAC since UAB and USM are leaving.

I'm in favor. Our current footprint is rather ridiculous as it is... spanning from Virginia to Texas with a giant two-state gap right there in the middle. If UAB doesn't get its 01-rivals together that gap goes to three, and the addition of a team not in Alabama, Georgia, or South Carolina just makes it worse.

Seems like everybody is pointing at ULL, TXST, or NMSU to replace UAB. If that's what it comes to, we're better off adding two to the west and one to the east.

Chuck Neinas would tell you go whopping big in football and remain independent leagues in other sports, but no one is going down that path without some serious tweaks to how a league is administered.

Everybody? From what I understand, the university presidents in CUSA are dead set against expanding to 16. In all actuality, it's usually fans of one of the Sun Belt schools that bring it up. Some, like the ULL fans, worry that realignment has ended with them stuck in the Sun Belt. Others, like GA Southern fans, worry that CUSA will grab two or three of the premier Sun Belt schools and leave the Sun Belt in ruins. I think the ULL fans have the most to worry about, as I think realignment is all but over.

Not everybody is pointing that direction. Only posters speculating here.
