I liked the newest Star Trek. Actually, I have found the new movies more digestible than the legacy cast films. Although, I must say, I did like the legacy cast tv show.

I don't know anything about the original Trek movies, so no purist here, but man I loved both of the Abrams movies. Always been curious what ppl disliked about the 2nd one

I loved the original Star Trek franchise. What I don't like about the new movies is the concept, a whole new timeline. I like the cast & the movies are good if you can get past the concept, luckily I can look past it & let them standalone.

What I don't like is the new Batman, far too dark. It's supposed to be more campy. Give me Keaton & Nicholson.

Happy to see Andy Serkis involved with a project as iconic as Star Wars. Serkis is pure class. Great to see him succeed.

Star Trek is broad enough of a franchise that completely different takes on Trek should be welcome.

Want to see action Trek? Watch any of the movies.

Want to see space opera Trek? Watch the reboot movies.

Want to see cerebral Trek? Watch the TV series.

Seriously though, even the TV series jump between action and cerebral plot lines. Most of the movies are action films, and the ones that aren't have poor ratings.

The issue with the 2nd movie is that JJ used the Wrath of Khan story line and implemented it in the stupidest way imaginable. It was an unnecessary move as he had essentially created Trek timeline that didn't needed to pay homage to the original.

Darth Vader recording for Tom-Tom GPS - behind the scenes

Lord Vader commands you to turn to the Dark Side. Will you be able to resist as he guides you to your destination? (or should that be...Destiny?)
