The other board
I know this is the slow time of the year but I have never seen the rivals board as slow as it is........One post since Thursday on the basketball and football board combined......just one. Chris has posted a couple of things but only one fan has posted anything. Evidently the new board design isn't going over too well........kind of like when Coke changed Coke and had to change it back. No, I don't think they will change anything but fans don't seem to be jumping on board(no, pun intended) as fast as I'm sure they hoped they would. I have seen way too many sites or programs that seemed to be well liked both at home and at work and they change them and they are less friendly.....too say the least. I have a theory on how a lot of this happens........all companies of any size have an IT department.......what does the IT department do.....if they don't come up with these new and wonderful ideas then all they are doing is making sure what is running.....keeps running. My theory is, the guys in the IT department think if they don't come up with something new and wonderful.......they might not have a job very long. My email service made some major changes.......and now you can't get back to your inbox, from the junk file or the draft file.....you have to start the process all over like you had never been on the site to get back to your inbox. Are the changes on any site or program done for the people that use it.......or are they done for the computer geeks.....for other computer geeks????

By the way, I might mention....from what I've seen so far I don't have any complaints with the new board.

RE: The other board
So far, I don't like it, but will live with it if need be. Its very slow and hard to navigate and I just don't like the design as much as the previous one. Why the change is beyond me, and it sounds like rivals (nationally) is under some sort of new management.

I really like the folks that run our rivals site and wouldn't do anything to harm it. We get the very best recruiting info on the web and Chris (and the other good folks there) have done a great job with it. But it looks like there are some initial problems they didn't create. I hope its not our version of the Obamacare rollout. But I go back to the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

RE: The other board
Yes the new look of the Rivals board desperately needs a number of tweaks. I have already left a post to that effect and will summarize I said here.
1) I agree the forum can be very laggy on some browsers esp firefox or firefox code forks.
2) Too much overuse of white space overall stretches the forum out too much. Forum could use some compacting. This is also true for the entire Rivals site. Overuse of white space. The way this forum uses white space is nearly ideal. It should be an example to the Rivals IT personnel.
3) The white background is too blinding when I try to read it Got to go!!

Other than those nit pic's the forum does have some nice feature upgrades.

RE: The other board
I find myself giving up posting on the rivals site because its so difficult to navigate. I think the new managers that came to rivals a year or so ago need to rethink what they are doing to it. One of the initial criticisms I had at about that time was the confusion that occurred when they decided to harden the recruiting star system. A lot of our three stars turned into 2 star players and it was hard to compare one schools recruits to another and even one years recruits to another. This is just another example of a person in authority making a poorly thought out decision leading to problems noone created but themselves. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
