RE: Early predictions 2015
The Ga state game is the one that I feel may be tough. I know they only had 1 win last year, but until they had several injuries they were in most games early. It's going to be a tough one. Our secondary is scary thin and I think we're going to give up more points this year.

Good link. I didn't raise ga state went to Oregon before playing us. It's quite possible they get the snot knocked out of them in that game. It'll be interesting to see the injury situation at that point.

I used to think like this and had concerns when JMU played teams like VA Tech and WVU. Then, the first game of the season in 2010 we had our back-up QB receive a season ending injury against Morehead State and quickly realized playing a FBS team is no more likely to cause injuries than the cup cake teams. They all hit hard, its really the speed of the players making the difference. I put your game against GSU as a toss-up. You guys will be good and once again the Big South will have two teams in the playoffs.

RE: Early predictions 2015
I think Delaware State should be a win.
West Virginia will take a miracle to win. Good thing we believe in miracles! But I'll put that as a likely loss.
I have a feeling we beat Montana seeing it's at home.
Southern Illinois is away so I'll go with a loss that we feel really let down with after starting strong.
Georgia State is a toss up but I'll go with another loss since they are FBS and we are on the road.
Gardner-Webb I expect to win. Followed by wins at Monmouth, Kennesaw State, and Presbyterian.
Charleston Southern will be tough on the road after beating us at home last year. Granted, we had our backup QB in but I never thought we lost because of him. I'll pencil this in for a win though. We've got a veteran team that will make the difference.
Coastal Carolina at home will be rough but not unexpected. When was the last time we beat them back to back years? I'll say we lose and finish with a 7-4 record and just miss the playoffs and come back down to earth.

RE: Early predictions 2015
A another step forward, or two steps back. Which will it be? In the past it was pressure to get to the playoffs. With that accomplished, there are now higher goals and the goals get bigger and harder to accomplish. Will Gill be up to the challenge to continue to evolve the program? Can he recruit high enough quality players to become a top 5 FCS program? It's a big jump from being a periodic top 25 team to maintaining a top 5 ranking in the FCS but easier today without Georgia Southern and App State being FBS.

Looking into my crystal ball, here's my thoughts for 2015. 7-4 is likely or 8-3 with some good fortune.

Sep 5 Delaware State WIN - should be one of the easier wins
Sep 12 West Virginia LOSE - WVA down last year, this one may be closer than many believe. If LU is close is 4th, may be Lunsford's opportunity to shine.
Sep 19 Montana LOSE - great fan support and a team that likes an away challenge. Ask App St.
Sep 26 Southern Illinois LOSE - in a strong conference and home game for them, and a loss of home game for LU = win for SI
Oct 3 Georgia State WIN - LU's statement game for the season. May be best game of year. Another opportunity to prod the SBC
Oct 10 Gardner-Webb WIN - GW still floundering
Oct 17 Monmouth WIN - MU keeps getting better but not there yet
Oct 24 Kennesaw State WIN - fortunately a LU breather
Nov 7 Presbyterian WIN - PC an improving team
Nov 14 Charleston Southern WIN - away revenge for LU
Nov 21 Coastal Carolina LOSE - CCU will remember 2014 loss

LF, if you are right and LU goes 10-1, with this schedule, this would be LU's greatest regular season.

RE: Early predictions 2015
That would again be a outstanding season and cement Gill as LU's most successful FB coach to date. The News & Advance last week had an article by Chris Lang that rated the strength of OOC games for BSC members. LU's was the toughest.

Early predictions 2015
I hope I am not being over optimistic this year given our very tough schedule.

Let's get those predictions in! The season starts this weekend! Despite the news of the last couple of days, there is plenty to be excited for this year. As great as last year was, this year could be even better so start picking your seats to come along for the ride!

RE: Early predictions 2015
I watched a large part of the Kennesaw/ETSU game. First played in a local high school stadium with 8k+ people, about 2k over seating capacity. The first quarter and half it was close. Then it all caved in for ETSU. 40 straight points by Kennesaw. KS seemed to wear down the startups of ETSU. Once mo got on their side, it was all downhill from there.

One game, against a re-startup program is a little more than an exhibition. KS can be expected to come back to reality when it enters BSC play, even against the bottom teams. But a strong opening victory and nice statement game for Kennesaw.
