I have to agree with Cane Gang's posts over on THA. Everyone deserves a bad grade after Saturday's game.

The team: no excuse for all those dropped passes, the poor protection of Smith, and the terrible D. I thought the turning point in the game was when Moss dropped a wide open pass across the middle in the second quarter. I adore Mills, but he has to step up at a moment like that.

How did Ashlan miss downing the ball on the Houston 1? You have to step up. Granted, he made several great plays... but we needed a couple of more out of him.

Our execution was problem number one last night. Smith didn't have the magic... someone else had to stand up.

The coaching: for the love, change the snap count! No excuse for the pentration that Houston was getting on D -- they looked offsides a lot, but they were reading Paul's count better than our line was. Our offense was two steps behind the entire second half.

The fans: Wake up! At least the fans in my section weren't paying attention. They spent the evening gossiping. Our crowd never seems to make it difficult until the waning moments of games. That has to change. Props to the students and the band, though. They were outstanding.

The refs: Stinky!!! I don't think they lost us the game, but they looked like a bunch of amateurs. I can't believe the referee started barking at the crowd at the end of the first half when explaining his call. I don't think they are WAC caliber yet... but they sure didn't look like they knew what they were doing at times. So, they were stupid... not evil.
