RE: Sports Illustrated Top 25
why does everyone like Auburn so much??
they've lost key people, including QB Nick Marshall....they also play in the hardest division there's ever been in college football
they play @ LSU, @ Arkansas, @ Texas A&M, and have home games against Georgia, Ole Miss, Miss St., Alabama, and start the season against Louisville...
I'd say they're about a year away. NEXT year Alabama and Auburn will take the forefront in the SEC again....too much for them this year

So we would be looking at
Orange- Auburn/TCU
Cotton- Ohio St/Notre Dame
Sugar- Alabama/Baylor
Rose- Michigan St/USC
Peach- Florida St/Boise St
Fiesta- Oregon/Georgia
Clemson just out of the access bowls.

We are declaring the SEC West the best division in the history of college football before anyone has played a down? College football is a bizarro world.

Auburn? Why does everybody like Arkansas so much???
Arkansas returns a **** ton of people, and they were very physical in games last year, including nearly beating Alabama....they are sort of primed for a run. Their schedule gets hard later in the season though...I think the rest of the SEC may be more prepared for them this year
The SEC West is a true gauntlet

I have no idea where they should be ranked, but i do think in preseason polls schedule shouldnt be a factor. It might hurt in the season but should matter till then.

Just a thought but lets say USC stumbles out of things and Clemson gets in the access bowl slot instead. Oregon goes to Rose Bowl...
You have as your 4 teams-
Florida St- ACC champs
Boise St- G5 team
Georgia
Clemson
you would think that the ACC champion would take priority and get the closer bowl. Boise targeted to Peach this year. So would we really see Georgia/Clemson play in the Fiesta Bowl?

ya, I would say so....I've never seen a division so full of really good teams. Not a single bad team in the bunch...They'll all have winning seasons
Has there ever been a better division in college football?

Say what you will about the bowls, but the new playoff set-up blows the doors off of the BCS.....
Those are all fun looking match-ups

It would appear that this ranking (and the Coaches poll) didn't take schedules into consideration. Georgia Tech, ranked #17 in the Coaches Poll, plays four teams ranked in the top 12. The chances that they will be ranked that high at the end of the year aren't great. It may be more likely that Virginia Tech, with a much weaker schedule, will finish the season ranked ahead of the Jackets. The ACC schedule makers are helping the Hokies here, giving them their bye week before they play GT in conference.
