I don't see ANYBODY claiming we get a lot of donor money. We know we don't.

Read the last 2 pages. There are multiple examples of people claiming the data is wrong and there are many more million in donations than what that shows.
Well i stated my assumption was wrong, idk what else you want man. A song and dance apologizing?
Not at all. I was responding to 007 not you. Relax

If NIU is ever going to play with the big guys, they need to up attendence and budget.. Budget is only $6M higher than FCS Illinois St.. And in attendance, when combining basketball and football, Illinois St nearly drew twice as many fans..

I think we both agree the numbers could be millions more and still not be that much. I might quibble about a million here or there but it still isn't a lot.

theNealT, how are you still posting? LOL!!! And still NO ONE cares about Illinois State! STOP trying to bring them up! NIU has already been playing the the big guys, matter of fact on Sept. 19, NIU plays the reigning National Champs. Have fun playing a B1G school for the last time ever! Illinois State will still be irrelevant despite your numerous attempts to bring them up through your multiple screen names! Find a Ill St. forum and you guys can circlejerk over your supposed combined basketball and football attendance and your love for your teacher's college in southern illinois!! LMAO #IScrewedUP

PS. ITS TIME YOU STOP BEING A POSEUR. YOU HAVE NO AFFILIATION TO UofI, You probably aren't even a graduate of Illinois State University or any college for that matter. You are a sad embarrassment, and if you would like to continue trying to bring up Illinois State and continue to troll, I have no issue giving you more embarrassment by bringing up your posts from other screenames you logged into. You have been identified as one of the biggest trolls of this board multiple times, don't even think you can hide that w/ your current alias.

RE: What NIU Needs to Do
Illinois St had nothing to do with my post, could have used SIU instead, heck, could have used Bradley who doesn't even have football.. With 13K in football attendence and 1K in basketball, no conference is going to look at NIU.. That's a fact..

Said it before and will say it again, ISU has passed NIU in everything but football...eventually they will if they so desire.

And you are completely wrong when you say nobody cares about ISU... They have increased enrollment by 7% while NIU enrollment has decreased by 21%... NIU act scores down to 21.8, ISU up to 24.7

The thread is about what NIU needs to do, I answered it.. If you want to take it that you need to take shots at the #2 public school in the state, feel free.

YOU ARE A JOKE! Get over yourself. You've already been exposed and full of SH!T! SIU AND Bradley have actual achievements in sports and is still more relevant that anything you have to say regarding Ill St. But if you want to continue being exposed for being a poseur... keep bringing up your irrelevant points about an irrelevant school!

RE: What NIU Needs to Do
Just because NIU enrollment and academics continue to drop I wouldn't call them irrelevant, good choice for kids that can't get into U of I or ISU.

And if you don't think a conference is going to look at poor academics and athletic programs outside of football , you are in for a rude awakening..

Illinois needs to start scheduling in DeKalb.

What's the benefit for the Illini to play in Dekalb?? They would be in a no win situation, win and they are supposed to.. Lose and "omg they lost to a MAC team"...

Over the next 9 years beginning in 2015 and ending in 2023, NIU has scheduled 16 games with P5 opponents in addition to 2 each with BYU, SD ST, UNLV, Wyoming, USF & Tulsa. During that time period if NIU wins 20 of those 28 games and grows per game attendance into the neighborhood of 35K; it will be an extremely attractive expansion candidate.

Sadly, Illinois isn't suppose to win at Northern Illinois. NIU is the better team.

The two have played 4 times in about the last 20 years... Illini have won all 4.. So let's not get carried away by saying they are the best program in the state.

I forgot... bring up facts and the NIU fans toss on their tin foil hats.. Guess that happens when they know they can't win a factual argument about their community college university..

That's the highest education you attended, and probably failed out! No one cares about YOUR opinions, because YOU ARE A TROLL! You troll fans of real colleges because of your superior University of Illinois degree (WHICH ACTUALLY DOESN'T EXIST BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GO THERE). Over and over again you create a new name, with your NONSENSE! You have a obvious obsession regarding NIU. No one cares what you think BECAUSE YOU MAKE UP **** ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR NOTIONAL FAMILY AND YOUr OPINIONS AND GET SHOT DOWN EACH AND EVERY TIME!! GIVE IT UP! PLUS you are horrible at keeping a LIE EVEN ON THE SAME SCREEN NAME, which makes it even more HILARIOUS! My favorite is the bit about University of Chicago... LMAO!! #ISCREWEDUP!!

That Illini team =/=this Illini team... which is horrible and very well may be the worst B1G team until they fire their coach. There really is no disputing that in terms of football right now NIU> UofI and honestly it isn't even close.

RE: What NIU Needs to Do
Believe last time they played was in 2010.. Illinois finished 6-6 just like last year and about where they wil finish this year..and NIU was undefeated in the MAC.. So both teams pretty close to what they will expect to be over the next few years.. So relax on the notion that NIU is better than Illinois

RE: What NIU Needs to Do
Pretty sad when a lowly MAC team is better than a B1G state flagship. But that is pretty typical for the B1G. Over half the conference is a non factor in college football.

1. Illinois is 4-0 against NIU since 1992..

2. Big Ten team is the defending National Champ

NIU has already essentially beaten the bottom half of the Big 10 over the past 5-6 years (Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue 2x) so the Illness would be lucky to be favored in a game against NIU. Their fans can talk all the smack they want but they are afraid to schedule NIU. Atleast Northwestern had the b*lls to do it but they probably won't again.
