RE: CUSA Our Last Hope
I image Liberty as a backup for James Madison in case Marshall leaves for American conference to replace UCF going to the big 12.

The only way I see LU leaving the BSC is in event the conference is in peril, which it may be if Monmouth states publicly that are departing. JMU is still the more appealing FBS program when compared to LU, but JMU keeps tripping over it's own feet in FBS desire, so LU likely has the advantage, not in appeal, but in organization and overtly stated desire.
Of course, if Monmouth departs the BSC and joins the Northern league, then the BSC will either need to expand which means move ups. D2 move ups dilute the league and are steps backward in quality and credibility. Are any SoCo or CAA teams going to join the BSC, most likely no. Will a MEAC team consider, maybe yes. Will Stetson and their conference teams in our region consider adding scholies to equal the BSC? Lots of questions for the survival of the BSC. Things LU does not want to address as the admins seem to want the bigger prize of FBS. LU will publicly state the PR position on the BSC to be a good member, when we all know it's for PR purposes only.
