if you stop the run, Vandy is gonna throw themselves into the dumpster. WKU D did just that last night and they came out ahead.

i've never liked a good opponent for homecoming (not that vandy is, but their dee is legit whether you guys think they're a cupcake or not).

i always found our players seem to be too caught up in homecoming to be focused the way they should be. whether they're thinking of the parties that night or their impending date with mary jane rottencrotch. they never seem focused on the actual homecoming game to me.

i said coming in that vandy would run, run, run, and then run just to keep the clock moving. they did.

it was also a perfect example of a field position game. their punter kept burying us and our punter kept giving them great field position.

it was a perfect game plan as far as vandy was concerned. they held the ball almost 37-23 minutes. win for them. field position. win for them.

but we somehow came out with an actual win.

walking out their fans weren't even mad. they are used to it. as much as i rail on western for 'pulling a western' i'm sure they feel they own the patent on that line.

Looks like we represented well in the stands too.

Way to go, Hilltoppers. Had a couple of Roadrunner buddies over at my house and we were switching back and forth between your game and FIU before our game started, and we were all shocked at the defensive nature of the game. We anticipated more of a high-scoring affair. Glad you guys pulled it out.
