None of those teams mentioned in your post are in our stratosphere. (Now there's some smack)

Here are some cherry picked numbers to chew on. Last 7 CUSA conference games at home, MT has scored the following on offense: 35, 34, 37, 50, 48, 48, 51. I think most MT fans would agree our offense this year looks like it could be better than the last two. We'll see.

You know it! Planning on giving you guys a nice hazing just like we did ODU last year with Heisman Heinicke.

But seriously, hope as many of you can make it into town as possible and have a great time. Enjoy the ride.

Got a point there about the defense. I don't think MTSU has seen a defense like us. ESPN has us with the 5th ranked defensive efficiency in the country (However, considering we only played GA State and Presbyterian) and the Blue Raiders face 'Bama which was ranked 20th and Jackson State (FCS) isn't ranked. They had an issue with turnovers with the Tide, so you know if we can just do what we do on defense; we are bound to get some INTs or fumble recoveries. And if we can turn those into points, then we might POP that 1st C-USA win cherry Saturday night!

Highly doubt it happens, but they said we couldn't beat GA State and Opps we did...

Eh those stats are meaningless this time of year, but I do legitimately think our defense is solid.

If not, they'll be exposed and Mt will run up the score early, stockstill will call off the dogs and eat clock. Either scenario will keep the score below 42, unless our offense gets some mojo and forces mt to keep scoring.

The score will be something like MT 48 Charlotte 17. We are not Georgia State or Presbyterian.

Basically how I'm feeling. I think (hope?) we're good enough to have the game be interesting still halfway through the third quarter, but I would wager that we will be out of it much earlier because of turnovers early and often. MTSU shows us the difference between Sun Belt teams and CUSA teams and ends up winning 38-17 (and it won't be that close).

I hope our boys prove me way wrong, and even if they don't I'll be darn proud of the way they've played this season!

I agree with this.

I'm also not pleased with our Left tackle breaking his toe against Presby and being out for a few weeks. Covington is probably along with Phillips and big Larry our most important player. This a huge loss for Charlotte.

I', also bummed someone's not picking this game up as I'm not a fan of our radio guy.

35-24 MTSU. Enjoy the wins against us while they last because they won't last.

We played Jackson State. Jackson State's defense is much, much better than pretty much every other team in the country.

We played Alabama. Alabama's defense is much, much better than pretty much every other team in the country.

I'm not going to say that we are going to lose until we actually do it. I think Charlotte will continue to surprise this forum even if the W doesn't happen.

CHARLOTTE FAN: You do realize Georgia State last year was one of, if not THE worst FBS team in the country, right? Not something to brag about. happy to see you guys have some early success, but the honeymoon ends this week. 44-13 Big Blue rolls the 49ers.

As fun as it's been to watch the 49ers play, I believe the fun will stop here. Blue Raiders conquer, 38-10.

eh, I could live with that. I just don't want to see something like 60-3. I don't think we will, but that would be really demoralizing.

We're well aware, it's not like we just learned what college football is. If you want to point out last year, they scored 30ppg or so in their home contests, our defense did a very good job on them and then first team dominated Presby like they are supposed to. It was our first win in FBS in our first FBS game, I think we can be excited about that.

Last year our defense was putrid (against FCS and lower teams), it's looking much improved with our new DC. MT will be a good test for us to see if we're ready to be competitive.
