I understand you hate losing to a G-5 program, I know all P-5 schools do. But come on, calling us poor sports. After the shooting our school raised money on our own for your school and gave you more than the ACC gave you. I'm sorry but I don't see that as poor sports.

Until they make a coaching change there's losses comin', and the conference really doesn't need to get dogged any more than it already is. This is instability, I lived thru it FAR too much in the Big East.

There's programs aplenty here that need an opportunity to right their ship--playin' super-hungry G-5 for whom this is their Super Bowl ain't the way to do it....

I was addressing his issue of calling our fans poor sports after losing the game, and I took issue with that. If VT wants to drop the series because they're afraid of losing that's fine, but they're going to have to pay quite a bit since it was just extended 9 years I believe.

Listen, I get it, when you lose a couple in a row to a team you feel you should beat the instant reaction is why do we play them, lets drop them. Whether VT drops us or not that won't correct their issues.

As for the "super bowl" argument that's fine, of course a G-5 program wants to play tough and beat a P-5 conference. Same thing applies to when teams FBS teams play FCS schools. I've never really understood this argument except that this is something that makes the fanbase feel better about themselves. I have a hard time believing that VT just walked into our stadium taking this game lightly after we beat them last year, same goes for UNC last year.

But hey if it being our Superbowl is some big advantage for us I'll take it, considering the massive advantages P-5 programs have over programs like ours.

Anyways that's my rant, the truth is the vast majority of VT fans are class acts and it's no secret that we at ECU strive to have the success that they've had as a program. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way!

ECU must have played in the most "Super Bowls" ever. Playing an ACC team is not our super bowl. I can assure you of that. Either way 5 in a row....

Stow the bok-bok chicken script Popeye, I ain't handin' out Oscars here. You're reverse psycho, passive-aggressive shishka-meh-bob routine is neither here nor there. You desperately want to keep playing them (maybe they do as well), my stance is it literally does nothing for P5 teams.

This is NO spin, all it does is hurt us and our conference mates if we lose. The way this whole Fbs thing has turned there just is no win in it-- this isn't your pappy's pap, this it Literally the way it is. Dynamics are such that them getting kicked by you, regardless of their 'condition', hurts us ALL. Same for UofL losing to Houston.

It ain't fair, you didn't make it this way, I didn't, but it is the way it is and as along as it is and the 'powers that be' regard yall as a lower tier no amount of rhetoric is going to change that and it remains not in our interest to play good G5s...which you fellas certainly are.

Playing ECU is not the problem for the Hokies. Losing to them is. VT needs to be able to win 100% of their games against unranked P5 and G5 opponents and 50% against ranked opponents. That is my expectation level (I'm not expecting CFP every season, but once in a while would be nice).

Wait, I thought in the new era, in order to compete for a national title teams had to stop playing FCS and poor quality, low ranking FBS teams. So isn't it important for teams like VT to play OOC teams like ECU, Cincy, or UCF rather than USA, ODU or Troy? Don't ECU and VT need each other?

I think it's more important to say Virginia Tech needs to get back to where they were; knocking on the door of a national championship. They have clearly slipped. It happens to all programs. But they need to get back to recruiting like they used to, coaching like they used to and executing like they did in the past. Sadly, it may mean moving on past from Beamer.

No, You are getting confused thinking Ecu and all the rest even matter in this 'new era' ... they do not. So no, they should not schedule 'top of the G5' teams like in the Aac. They get no credit for a win, and roasted if they lose. That is not jargon, it is literally Real.

If they lose to you, that stain spreads to everyone else they play in the conference. The best thing to do if you are building up is to do what NC St. did this year and schedule 4 bodybags. When, say, NC St., or any other, feels this is their season, then they keep 2 of the BBs, and exchange the the other 2 BBs for a couple of P5s. Which ones? How daring are you feeling?

If you are a team who really feels they are Final Four ready, definitely try to get an upper level P5, then a middling level P5, or a lower if you have to...but that is smart scheduling for different kinds of program 'conditions.'

I'm sorry, but Aac teams, some of them, are not good enough to really challenge for a NT, but are good enough to ruin some seasons, not just for individual teams, but entire conferences.

By the way, I see Miami is visiting Cincy on Thurs, I believe? And not the Fins & the Bengals. With the new Cincy Qb after the Mumps game-- I do believe they've upgraded and now I got a bad feeling about this daggone game!

This isn't a command, i'm not delusional....but Please consider, ACC, not scheduling games like this.

I'd say the ECU team from 2008 9-5 and last years team 8-5 that had 3-4 ridiculously close losses were a hair away from finishing in the top 25. We will see about this year, but we don't lose often at home.

Saying you should beat all G5s really doesn't take into account the strength of the G5 team.

Lets be honest, this series is usually a 1 score game in the 4th quarter. 2011 and 2013 games in particular were narrow escapes for VT.

Even the game in 2010 where you guys blew us out, we still started that game out up 14-0.

We've gone to bowl games 8 of the last 9 years, we're better than plenty of P5s out there most years, just have to try and erase that out of your mind. It's branding, that's all it is.

ECU fans are the ones always obsessing over UNC and NC State. Its a huge inferiority complex you have with them
