Say it ain't so, Louisville...
What a family!

http://www.whas11.com/story/news/local/2.../73362320/

Now, as WHAS 11 searches for more about Powell as mentioned in her book, family ties to criminal history are quickly resurfacing.
Katina's brother, Earnest Powell Junior is still in jail facing assault and robbery charges after LMPD says Powell and another man beat a woman over the head with a lead pipe at the Wright Way Bar in Portland in late August.

Another brother, Deshawn Powell has an arrest record that includes assault charges after police say he shot someone multiple times in 2011. The same year, Powell's nephew, 22-year-old Earnest "Pete" Powell was murdered in Beecher Terrace.

Both of those "records" are her brothers' records and not her own?

Correct & she doesn't have a criminal record.

Ok. So I don't care about their record. I only care about her prostituting her own daughters out. That alone deserves a lengthy sentence.

Ok, so she has freely admitted to running a prostitution ring, including CHILD prostitution, not to mention that Prostitutes have to file taxes too. So most likely there's tax evasion, which is a Federal offense. Just waiting for someone to read her her Miranda rights....

It'll never happen though. Hopefully once all these accusations are proven false, the University sues the hell out of the Publisher and Madam dumpsters!ut.

Seriously, everyokne was freaking out and worried on Friday, and the more that comes out people are just shaking their heads and laughing because there is no proof of anything. A few photos of players sitting on couches with girls? Seriously? Some "screen shot" text messages that have been "lost" because of a "virus"? A hand written diary is the majority of the "evidence"?

Swiss cheese.

In her ledger she has a payout entry for "Police". I think she said Cops but that would explain why local authorites are not exactly concerned about her right now.

Yeah, can you believe that the LMPD isn't investigating? They said her confession means nothing since she wasn't under oath. I can see them letting the campus police handle the on campus investigation but there had to be other incidents off of campus. She will likely walk.

The Louisville police are in something of a bind here. If they go after the madam and/or her daughters on any of the many things she could be charged with, they will appear to be trying to "cover up" for the University. In that event, both the school and the police look worse than they would even if this turns out to be true.

If the allegations are true she broke the law...she pimped out her underage daughters and it involved interstate commerce...plus with the money she supposed to have received she owes the IRS some $$$.

Also if it is true Pitino would have to go IMO.

I agree, he can take an early retirement.

Just heard ESPN is going to talk about this on Outside The Lines today. Their special guest? F'ing Matt Jones, the biggest UK and Calipari humping homer on the planet, editor of the Kentucky Sports Report. Not, you know, maybe someone at the University or a member of the media in Louisville. What value could this loser possibly add to the conversation?

I'm sure Matt won't want to go Too far as UK and Cal more than likely have lot's of skeletons lurking out there just waiting this Halloween season in closets everywhere.

If UL gets lit up, can you all do me a favor and take it as an opportunity to go nuts and find the dirt in UK? Pretty much anyone with working eyes can see that it's there. It just hasn't been exposed yet. PayPal Cal isn't clean.

I have to laugh at the comments our illustrious madam makes about how she regrets contributing to the "loss of innocence" of these recruits. Seriously? These guys have probably been getting laid almost as often as she has. There has never been any shortage of young women who throw themselves at star athletes. And most of them are a lot more attractive than what I've seen so far from Powell.

Matt did ok, he was fair, didn't talk much though. Seth Greenberg actually mentioned how the 2 schools probably know everything about each other & eluded to how even UK was surprised by the allegations.

Ironic posts given the 'Do folks here see ESPN as a good 'partner' with the ACC?' thread.

In short, ESPN will not investigate UK or any SEC school to any great degree (beyond just trying to portray being neutral). They invested a LOT of $$$ investigating FSU & others.

Also tough to have talking heads from one competing conference commenting on a rival conference. Some are fair....others are not.

Regardless, ESPN isn't good for the ACC

This is a clear case of extortion and blackmail. Her and her publisher though U of L would pay them hush-money. Jurich and Ramsey have already contacted the FBI. I bet she goes to jail and the printer gets bankrupted from all his legal fees and damage awards! 07-coffee3

680 ESPN radio just reported that the Commonwealth Attorney is now working with the UL police & the crimes against children division into the claim of under aged prostitution. I'm glad to here this.
