Uh, UConn has been in that same position against several teams in the last several years: Memphis, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Virginia, CINCY!!!, Duke, Pitt, Wake Forest...

Congrats UConn.

There were a lot of UCF fans who took a lot of swipes at UConn last year. I won't return the favor. The reality is that, more often than not in the future, UCF will be at the top of this conference. All today proves is what we UConn fans knew from the old Big East days... there is a lot of parity in this conference. Teams rise, teams fall while rebuilding, and teams rise again. At the end of the day, it is anybody's game. Anything is possible in any week.

So, cheers to our UCF conference brothers. With every passing week, I am more proud to be in a conference with the schools that we have in the AAC.

The ConFLiCT is on again next year, UCF. This rivalry may not be so silly after all. Cheers, my conference homies!

At this point, I'd settle for making a bowl game. Baby steps.

my take aways on this game:

UCF: What can I say... injuries are a killer and the talent level isn't that high. They scored a bit late when UConn backed off. They will be a 0 to 2 win team this year. I can't really think of any positives. It was embarrassing to let a young, improving but not yet good UConn team won every facet of the game.

UConn: UConn has virtually never had a mobile quarterback. I watch the system and think that a mobile QB is a must (especially with a not-so-good offensive line). UConn did stuff right in this game that they did not do in their losses... 3rd down plays were better on offense.. finishing drives in the red zone. UConn / South Florida becomes an interesting game after the hurt USF but on Syracuse, albeit a pretty depleted Syracuse team... but a team that gave LSU a challenge a couple weekends ago.

The trophy is embarrassing for both sides, as much as I love Diaco...

Even the trophy was ashamed to be a part of this game.
