Let's talk basketball
The season is right around the corner and I can understand why there's very little excitement with the flames nation. We're picked dead last in the conference and if you look at the roster we're going to play several freshmen. I do have faith that Liberty made the right hire and in 2-3 years Liberty will be playing for conference championships. We're just going to have to go through some growing pains this year.

RE: Let's talk basketball
Yep, agreed. I'm guessing under 10 wins this season. Maybe closer to 5 wins.

The schedule is super easy so we may get to 10.

RE: Let's talk basketball
I think we win 10 games. We probably win three of our first four. The Big South is so bad that we'll probably win a handful of games there. Let's say four. If we can't win three games against the rest of our schedule to get to ten wins then we are really terrible.

I think McKay will provide better coaching for us than Layer brought. So we should improve some there in addition to our easier schedule.

I think it's very possible to go 1-3 in our first four games. I don't think they're as easy as you think.
W&M won 20 games last year. I don't see us winning that one, even if they have a young team (which I don't know).
Central Penn College. I can't believe this is a real game. Are we sure it's not another scrimmage? We should win this one.
App. St. only won 12 games last year, but competed in a tougher conference. At best, this game is a toss up.
WMU won 20 games last year. I don't see us winning that one either.

Tulane=Loss, Furman= Maybe a win, but it's a road game, Lamar= chance for a win, Princeton=Loss, St. Francis=Loss, VCU=Loss, ND=Loss

We won 2 games in the Big South last year. Let's go with your prediction and double that to 4 wins this year.

I am counting 1+2+4= 7 wins

In my first four games, I included Covenant and Summit, not App State and Western Michigan. Are those just scrimmages?

RE: Let's talk basketball
Well, I'm not 100% positive. But most teams start the season with scrimmages and since those games are on back to back nights against lower division schools I thought they were scrimmages. If they actually count toward the won/loss record..... shame on us Liberty. That's weak sauce.

So, does anyone know... Are those first two games real or scrimmages?

RE: Let's talk basketball
I was mistaken. Those first two games are regular season games... WOOF! How embarrassing. I will go ahead and chalk up two more wins to my predicted total. I'm now thinking 9 wins on the season.
