Oldtiger, you guys had Ward figured out this evening, I guess is good he got injured or else this conversation isn't kind to us.

A tip of my TIGER cap to Houston. Absolutely stunning comeback; great resolve and determination to overcome the lead MEMPHIS had. Easily the game of the year in the conference.
Hopefully Ward is okay but MEMPHIS can now argue it's your BACK UP QBs that are hell to hold.
The Navy-Houston game will determine the Access Bowl representative, but again....if the Cougars win out and go 13-0, it puts the CFP committee in a tough political situation.

Amazingly that was our 3rd string QB. Adam Schultz was injured earlier in the season. Herman has a history with backup QBs

Good level headed post, boss man
I thought our defensive performance this evening against the run was very poor, if we play like this vs Navy we are doomed.
Oh, but if Herman plays Postma over Ward, I really like our chances.
Go Coogs

But let's be honest here, Ward first quarter was just awful, we were clearly going to lose this game had Ward not gotten injured.

You guys deserved to win with that 4th quarter comeback, but you have to admit, did you ever think you would type that sentence before the game started tonight? I mean, it was Ward vs. Lynch all week.
We pretty much had Ward solved. Shut him out for almost 2 quarters. Then Kotsma showed up and killed us. We prepped for Ward all week.
Unfair, lol.

I saw two really good teams go at it tonight. Memphis's offense is downright scary.
I'm certainly thankful my Cougars won that contest. I also think the American conference was a winner tonight. What a great bunch of teams we have this year.
Wherever we all end up lets go win those bowl games.

That pass interference call was awful. A bad throw made that LOOK like pass interference. There was MAYBE a brush of contact. The DB has just as much of a right to that ball as the WR.

i disagree...herman doesnt credit the ball movemnet to change in qb but to the adjustments....
the one thing i notice between ward and postma is they had ward stay in the pocket while they blitzed almost every play ..and when postma came in they had him roll out of the pocket to use his legs to create time instead of his relying on a the oline that was getting beat.
i can name like 8 games where ward just flurried points in the second half..are we forgetting we were down versus Louisville after being "stopped" for 2.5 quarters and ward just coming alive when the bright light came on and scored td on our last 3 drives, same for pitt
im not a magician and cant say we would have won, i dont know, but ward would have definitely made it a game

I like to agree but I just can't find myself pretending I doing so. Ward was completely off, the offense went like 5/6 3 n outs b/c of him.
Funny how when Postma comes in he moves our offense with almost no problem.

That's because he had the arm to take advantage of our weak ass secondary.

Memphis: your fans were great, very respectful, classy people, however your team was not. Taunting the crowd after kickoffs? Throwing water on our band before halftime? Not to mention what happened on the field.. team needs discipline.
After all that this was an absolute thriller, understand how you guys feel, couldve just as easily gone the other way. Good game.

Big Houston, congratulations on the win in a game that both teams played as hard as they could play. Lots of talent and heart on that Cougar team. Best wishes the balance of the year.
