Western fans can't help it if S. Miss can't handle a coaching change. Western did just fine...along the way Western also replaced a 4 year starting qb with our current one.

So I like our chances just fine. But the question is...can S. Miss get lucky enough to get them a schedule like this year.

winning games against ..

A. Peay*
Texas St**
UNT
UTSA**
UNCC***
RICE
ODU***
UTEP

* not FBS
** FBS 5 years or less
*** Did not have a football program 5 years or less ago

UNT..might be the worse FBS in history
Rice..3 fbs wins came against a combined schools with 4 fbs wins between them
UTEP..3 fbs wins, combined schools with 6 fbs wins between 3 of those belong to Rice

I think the odds are S. Miss will fall back to that cellar-dwelling

For someone that apparently jerks off to spreadsheets of "facts" you might want to check yours. 5 years ago we were in our second year playing football.

You forgot to add..

your momma

1 year, 2 years..it's all the same, ODU is still a awful awful football team.

So this is how you respond to facts huh? Personal attacks and childish behavior? Some people just cant handle what I'm saying and respond to it like this but it doesn't change the facts. (My best WKUYG impersonation)

Here's some more facts for you, you're awful defense let our awful, awful team score 30 points on you. Also, it took WKU four years after moving up to accumulate the number of FBS wins we had in our transition year.

But this is all beyond the point which is you're kind of making an ass of yourself here lately so you may want to tone it down. Just some friendly advice.

This kid sucks.

Board needs some better, more knowledgeable WKU representation.

Haha. We were winning championships when your program was still in diapers, boy.

We've dwelled in the cellar for exactly 3 years of our 105 year existence.

Those were the last 3 years...

so in context it doesn't matter what your grandfather was watching at S. Miss. None of that helped you the last 3 years.

Like I said...

S. Miss needs to worry about dwelling in the cellar. You don't seem to handle coaching changes very well. Hell if not for the weakass schedule I pointed out. You would be calling for another coaching change...then comes

the cellar

Well I guess that will depend on if western schools can field a decent team

Yeah if only we had the brutal schedule y'all had maybe we would be more respected by you. We care about your respect so much, n00b.

Yep, but you must understand that's an arduous task from that group and very difficult to find. There's more where that came from.

That said, would be nice if we had more of Galojay and Jacque. Maybe Apollo too. Those are a few of the level headed folks.

Yeah but if you'd gone back another year, that 2011 USM team would've beaten any team you've had in your history probably. Why did you list out 5 years for WKU but only 3 for USM? That seems odd

CONTEXT ....

I showed 5 years for Western because it fit the CONTEXT of what was said...earlier.

5 years shows Western went through not one but 3 coaching changes
5 years shows Western replaced a 4 year starter with our current 3 year starter.

The 4 year starter was not the best QB but sill good enough to win 7 games in each of his last 2 seasons. Western replaced him with a QB (and two coaching changes) that won 8,8, 8 and counting.

So CONTEXT

S. Miss has not handled the change in coaches ..

so in that context both ranges of years apply

WKU should probably be in the playoff this year.

Their success this season and historically is akin to the likes of Alabama and Notre Dame.

I don't care if they've never won a conference championship in their short FBS history.

Board needs some better, more knowledgeable WKU representation.

Yep, but you must understand that's an arduous task from that group and very difficult to find. There's more where that came from.

That said, would be nice if we had more of Galojay and Jacque. Maybe Apollo too. Those are a few of the level headed folks.

I can't speak for the others but I tend to avoid these non-sensical tirades. WKUYG loves to quote data. As we all know, give me your data and I'll give you mine and we both will still disagree. Such is the world of sports message boards. His knee jerk reaction to those who dispute his claims is his greatest weakness....but then again, many posters on this board do the same. It's just that WKUYG's writing style tends to be a bit more abrasive at times.

At the moment, WKU is riding high, and I'm happy. Two more games to go and anything can happen.....regardless of statistics.

Marshall beats WKU

Marshall hosts USM for the championship game. A glimpse of how it will be most years into the future.

Love the enthusiasm but I think WKU beats us handily. We are once again trending upward and next year should be another championship run for us but I dont think we are a complete enough right now to beat WKU at their place.

Their success this season and historically is akin to the likes of Alabama and Notre Dame.

I don't care if they've never won a conference championship in their short FBS history.

Not one Western fan is bragging about leading the conference right now...

not 1 Western fan has said we will win the conference in a bragging way. I'm sure our fans just like S. Miss, Tech and Marshall all think the same.

But you wont find one Western fan saying it's a fact.

Everything in this topic is in response to a post by a fan of S. Miss, Marshall, Tech, ODU, MUTS. Why those last two are even saying anything...I don't know.

They are clearly out of any talk when it comes to best in CUSA this year. But I guess muts do fit top 5. So I will give them that.

Stats are your friend....

I posted a set of numbers...someone had made a comment about those. I left those FACTS to stand on their own. NO COMMENT about them. NO ALTERING THEM. Just the RAW numbers. I guess some of you didn't like them...

but one thing is very clear in all of this nonsense...

No one has showed those figures to be incorrect

Nope...personal attacks but nothing to show any number I post was not correct.

so in context it doesn't matter what your grandfather was watching at S.

You seem to be missing a key point...
we are talking about being in the cellar. Something S. Miss fans have gotten use to over the last 3 years....

Not Western

2015 CUSA 8 2 Jeff Brohm (8-2)
2014 CUSA 8 5 Jeff Brohm (8-5)
2013 Sun Belt 8 4 Bobby Petrino (8-4)
2012 Sun Belt 7 6 Willie Taggart (7-5)
2011 Sun Belt 7 5 Willie Taggart (7-5)

S. Miss

2014 CUSA 3 9
2013 CUSA 1 11
2012 CUSA 0 12

Like I said...scheduling? improved?

winning games against ..

A. Peay*
Texas St**
UNT
UTSA**
UNCC***
RICE
ODU***
UTEP

Just in case you don't get it....only 2 schools played a worse schedule than S. Miss this year. One of them is a CUSA member.

Scheduling? Improvement?

First off 5 years show 2 coaching changes for Western not 1 not 3 but 2. The exact same number as USM in that same time frame but you chose to show the records of only the past 2 for USM and included the last 2 years of Willie Taggarts tenure. The real CONTEXT here is your agenda.

I did several posts ago. And just now I pretty clearly showed how you're just showing the stats that fit your narrative
