Yuppers. Given that we're talking about the popularity of a bowl game, I am pretty fixated on the attendance.

I think what he is trying to say is that it is a TV event, butts in seats doesn't mean what it use to.

Indiana actually has a rather largish fanbase. Now --admittedly-- most are into hoops. But they will support football, especially given how rare bowl games are for them. I wouldn't be surprised to see 10-15k Hoosiers there alone. Not sure about the Dookies, but if they did show up the 2 fanbases could have very knowledgeable discussions about basketball, at least..
