2016 Football Schedule
Here's an early look at the football schedule for next year. Way too early predictions...

Sep 03 - @ Virginia Tech L
Sep 10 - Jacksonville W
Sep 17 - @ SMU W
Sep 24 - Open
Oct 01 - Robert Morris W
Oct 08 - Open
Oct 15 - @ Kennesaw State W
Oct 22 - Monmouth W
Oct 29 - Gardner-Webb W
Nov 05 - @ Presbyterian W
Nov 12 - Charleston Southern W
Nov 19 - @ Coastal Carolina W

Anybody heard who we might get for our 11th game?

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
Not a peep on the final game. Obviously we are looking to get a 6th home date after the road weary 2015 season.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
No doubt. I'm expecting a home game even if it's against a non FCS team. But surely we'll be able to find and FCS team to come to our place.

2016 Football Schedule
North Dakota St. Has on opening and needs a game on Sep 24. Can we offer enough money for them to come to Lynchburg?

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
I'm not sure we want another tough game like North Dakota state would offer. SMU and VA Tech will be challenging for our team breaking in a new qb.

Yep, I agree. But I'd rather play them than KY Wesleyan.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
Southern Illinois owes us a home game from last year right? Are they scheduled for another season?

To be the best you have to beat the best, the same thing was said about playing Montana. You have to get a gauge on where your team stands and how they stack up against the "better" teams of FCS...PERIOD you can't run and play the type of schedules that CCU does and expect respect

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
Anybody think we may have a freshman QB starting for us next season? Or will it be Masha all the way (barring injury)?

We're gonna be set at WR. We have one proven RB. Need to take a closer look at what the OL is gonna look like. That's what really will determine our season.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
I think Masha will be the QB. He's been waiting for the opportunity and has done well when given the opportunity from what I remember. I know we have a highly rated recruit coming in but I wouldn't want him to start as a freshman.

I'm thinking it will be one of the Freshmen. Likely Calvert. And everyone will love the unannounced game.

That is a very un-Christian like comment/teaser to make on Christmas.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
This is why I would have liked to see more of Masha last year when the season was lost. Now we don't know what we have in him and the other option is to start a freshman, something a rebuilding program would do. I'd like to think we aren't rebuilding when we are in the fifth year of a head coach who started off by rebuilding and molded the team into a playoff team in year three.

I would love to find an fbs transfer qb that could come in and play right away and give the fr a chance to grow up.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
I just think Masha's long range accuracy issues may be what keeps him from being the guy. No info, just think we have to be able to open it up.

I wish I could share on the schedule, but I don't think I can yet. Let's just say it'll be a really big FCS home game. I never do this type of thing, I'm not even sure it's a secret, but since it hasn't been announced, I figured I better keep quiet.

Big fcs could be South Dakota. I think they still need a game next year. I'm all for the playing the best, but SMU and va tech is going to really test this young team.

But Woodrum wasn't/isn't good at the deep ball and he was a 3 1/2 year starter. Maybe it is just poor coaching, a poor scheme, or just something else. Regardless, I don't consider our offense as being good or even average at throwing the deep ball.

Maybe that's just something we have to work harder at to be good at. I don't know. There are things we haven't been good at in what feels like forever, for example, having a great pass-catching tight end. We've recently been very good at developing really good receivers, namely Peterson, Summers, and Brown.

Alright knucklehead, be sure to let us know what the final game of the season is once it's made public, or when you can.

I am hoping for N.D. State or a Florida-Texas-California-Virginia school.

Is it Harvard? Maybe the Dallas Cowboys?
