Chancellor Zito
This may be off topic so please move if necessary but i was wondering if anyone had any strong opinions on the new chancellor. I see Mike Adams has come to terms with the university under Zitos leadership but was wondering if anyone else had thoughts, positive or negative

Chancellor Zito
I moved it solely because of the part about Dr. Adams.

RE: Chancellor Zito
Huge fan of Zito. He's very direct in his goals and ideas, and expects the best from everyone at the University. I've heard he's been excellent at communicating with employees and he gives control to all department heads. He expects performance, and I know he has tasked Jimmy with filling Trask. He sees empty seats as lost revenue at every game, and therefore money that could be used to support athletics.

He's had an eye on football, speaking with Charlotte and Pembroke, and has set a goal of 20K students at UNCW in five years. Not sure about others opinions of football, but i'm against.

He also is using his connections to create international connections and cache' at UNCW. He sees the opportunity for a port city like UNCW on an international stage. Also has a great desire to be a military friendly school.

I think he's a game changer for us, and he's really focused on increasing the visibility of our academics in a state where we rank right up there with NC State and Chapel Hill...but nobody seems to know.

Much to the chagrin of many academics, he sees a college education as directly related to employment, and he plans to engage large companies in recruiting to that end.
