JMU coach
Coach Withers accepted there job at TX State. I think this says allot about JMU and the possible FBS aspirations. Tx State is not a dream job for many coaches. I think Withers saw the writing on the wall and wanted to move on.

RE: JMU coach
Maybe, but taking an FBS job is still a great step up from an FCS job, even if it's Texas St. You gotta think, he'd have ample recruiting opportunities in Texas. He's in a winnable conference. I think he made a good move. I'm not sure it means JMU has no FBS aspirations..... even though they don't.

RE: JMU coach
I am sure that the allure of FBS now at Texas State beat a possible FBS future at James Madison and I am sure the pay is better. I wouldn't read too much into it. But it may be more telling who is hired to replace him and how much he is paid.

RE: JMU coach
There is irony at play here. The JMU administration that it was too good for the Sun Belt. But apparently their coach's opinion differed.

Coach Withers was an assistant for the Longhorns back when i covered the team years ago. So he knows his way around the area. And anyone following Fran will look good by comparison.
