The reality is it's up to the individual schools to find revenue streams other than the big check from the conference. It's forcing your boosters to pay for what they get. It's naming rights, seat licenses, and donation levels.
If you can't maximize your position it's your own fault, not the conference. It's using your basketball program to force season ticket holders to buy football tickets. It's using your football season ticket holders to sell tickets to women's basketball.
I'm sorry but as a Louisville fan I have very little sympathy for any school that's been in a P5 conference as long as the majority of the programs in The ACC; as fans you shouldn't either.
If you think your school can make more money somewhere else, you need to be voicing that concern to your BOT, President, and AD. You need to voice your concerns but not buying tickets.
If I was a fan of a program that has been as successful as some of the programs in The ACC and I still felt like I was falling behind I would be doing something about it. Not constantly complaining to other fans of other programs that haven't had the silver spoon golden opportunities that yours has.
Time to STF up or do something about it.

That's what You call pulling Yourself up by the Bootstraps. All successful programs that keep improving Themselves have a formula for Success They run with.

I love getting preached to by a fanbase who's major source of income is subsidized by the taxpayers of the city they reside in.

Yes, that's why Louisville was already #1 in the nation in basketball profits even when they were still playing in Freedom Hall. Thank you for your insightful commentary.

This is happening just as I predicted. No where is that guy that was telling us yesterday how happy OU was in The Big 12.

Sorry to be such a pest, but you claim to have predicted something that "is happening." I can't determine what that prediction was, unless you predicted that David Boren would continue to grumble about the Sooners' lot in life. If that was your prediction, good call!

So let's assume that Swofford and his merry band were able to corral UT with a quasi conference deal just like ND. Would this be acceptable to the rest of the ACC? Does the ACC need another Prima Donna program that thinks the entire conference should revolve around them? How well will that sit with the NC Cotorie? Heck, how well would FSU take it? Imagine the uproar that would occur if both UT and ND displace ACC teams with better records to get better bowls. Look, I recognize the brand appeal of UT, but if they will not join as a full member, then I vote no. What's the point of being in a conference where the rules apply to most schools, except the really special ones? There is already discontent building towards the ND deal, now some of you want to add yet another "special" deal for Bevo? Yeah, thanks but no thanks. If UT wants to join the ACC as a full conference member, then I'm good with that.
I will take a stab at why Texas with an "ND deal" may be good for the ACC.
Texas as a partial member may be the only good opportunity of increasing the ACC television money payouts, not only by possibly helping with a network but when the current deal runs out.
With the cable extortion model looking weaker and weaker, brand names and content will matter more than ever. By any metric, Texas and ND are brand names.
Together in the same conference, even as partials, is a good thing for the future regarding TV payouts.
Without such opportunity, the ACC may likely continue to lag greatly behind the SEC and Big Ten.
If no such increases are forthcoming, will the Big Ten and SEC grab any ACC schools after they are done with their Big 12 snack?
An ACC with Texas and ND together involved as partial members gives the conference much more clout, political power and potential than its current configuration.
Texas with an "ND type deal" may be enough to get this long coveted ACC Network that I keep reading about, but doubt will ever make the schools any money.
The addition of Texas as a partial member just might greatly help with perception, political power, content and negotiating power.
Are there any other good ideas out there to increase the payouts for the ACC, besides ND joining in full (which I still strongly doubt will happen)??
If not, just stand pat and let things go rocking along as is. Where will that put the ACC relative to the SEC and Big Ten in the future?
I can think of a few other potential benefits of Texas getting a ND type deal from the ACC.
The ACC could get more Bowl options with a Texas partial.
OOC scheduling would be easier.
The ACC could renegotiate the Orange Bowl and may pick up an option for the Sugar Bowl.
It would solidify ND's Independence.
A Big 12 without Texas may collapse allowing the remaining Power Conferences to pick up that share of the CFP money.
Texas would attain voting power.

Not saying that I agree with my fellow Cards fans but you obviously aren't informed on the Yum Center situation.
Besides, wouldn't you rather have Jurich working out deals for the ACC?
