This is by Chuck Landon. He is an opinion writer for the Herald Dispatch. If you recall, he is the same one that wrote the article two years ago that ODU didn't deserve to be in CUSA or FBS after you lost to us in football. I think it was something about your stadium and lack of talent to compete. Your fans were rightfully upset.

In short, he writes for click bait. Trust me, I have no idea about realignment, but whenever Chuck writes something the exact opposite happens. The guy is clueless, and our administration pulled his access to our coaches and team. He may be right, but it would be a fluke with no research or foundation other than lucky guess.

What he said about ODU is correct. ODU has the largest athletic budget in CUSA and resides in the 42nd largest media market. Those stats indeed make the school more aligned with AAC members. .... and yes, ODU is showing some class by not slutting itself to the AAC. Well, not yet lol

I never said he got the budget numbers wrong or ODU is not a candidate for expansion. What I said was don't ever count on any information you get from Landon. As you can see, two years ago he was writing ODU doesn't have the facilities or talent to be in FBS. Now, he is writing your likely to go to the AAC.

Landon writes to pander for attention. He is an ass.

I read the first article, He made one comment about ODU then went into the game highlights.

"Old Dominion has a ways to go. In every way. Most notably, in talent, coaching and facilities. "

That's not too far fetched. There's nothing there that ODU fans haven't said themselves. Not only did our fans think that Foreman Field was outdated, they also argued that our coaching staff wasn't up to FBS standards. The article pretty much said our defense sucked. No argument there. We're improving but it may take us some time due to years of neglect. Having the 8th best recruiting class in CUSA isn't helping either.

Click bait? Is it ok for an employee of a profit seeking company to actually do his job? He hasn't been accused of defamation or slander has he? What about fabricated stories?

I hear Landon's fallen out of favor with the Herd. Wow, a tough football team gets their feelings hurt and bans him. We have a guy like him. His name is Bob Molinaro and he's made unflattering comments about ODU. Last time I checked, he wasn't banned from anything related to ODU football.

Good Luck:)

Banned? Your reaching. He isn't banned; however, he is an opinion piece writer. He doesn't get press access.

I get it. He wrote something you desperately want to believe this year. You need to support it. He called out your program two years ago for not having adequate facilities or talent. He thought you shouldn't be FBS. You weren't supportive of that.

Let me make it simple. He writes his opinion (not slander). He has every right to do that. His opinions are incongruent with one another, and one should most likely evaluate the veracity of his opinions based on his history. If you lack the ability to comprehend, I guess you will be packing your bags for that move to the AAC.

Good Luck :)

So you don't give him press access and that's simply a rule? lol I think I read somewhere that there was a reason for that. But I really don't care. That's between Marshall and Landon.

Again. as I said in my post, those comments he made about ODU 2 years ago weren't inaccurate. Our fans were even critical about those same issues affecting ODU on our very own message board.

However things have changed in 2 years. We're now on the verge of building a new football stadium, the construction of our basketball training center is underway and our football team is getting better. If you couple that with our 1st ranked athletic budget and 42nd ranked market then you can understand why Landon thinks ODU is the best AAC candidate from CUSA.

I wasn't being desperate. I was just defending the accuracy in those 2 articles. I offered no opinion on whether or not ODU should get an AAC bid.

You are entitled to your opinion--just like Landon. I feel you look a little "on the verge" of desperate.

You're entitled to your opinion. However, mine wasn't. You called him clueless and you gave us 2 artlicles to prove it. However, I found nothing inaccurate in what he said about ODU. Desperate? Like Landon said, ODU is showing class by not begging the AAC to take it. We want to make CUSA great again. That's our goal.

Good Luck:)

RE: Sun Herald: Could Big 12 expansion send USM to AAC?
Only BYU brings any value to the Big 12. No AAC school brings any value to Big 12 according to OU Regents. Texas Big 12 are against with pressure from OU expansion is dead.

Possible BYU and Cinncy or UConn are others arent going to happen.
