David Boren said Bob Bowlsby will “recontact those schools that have contacted us. Evaluate what proposals they may make” about joining B12

There are 63 FBS schools interested in joining Big 12. Good luck getting ahold of Bob Bowlsby for next few months

Wow. Herbst and Benedict better be on top of things. B12 has to expand, take the guaranteed money, and start making the case for a network of their own.

Big 12 said news of ACC’s addition of ACC Network impacted Big 12’s decision regarding "continued interest in expansion"

You folks in Cincinnati, Provo, Storrs, Houston, Memphis, Orlando, Tampa and Colorado Springs may want to send a few thank-you cards to the ACC and ESPN, who pretty much just eliminated what little chance the Big 12 had of ever expanding with P5 schools.

If it's 2 it's Cincy/Memphis. If it's 4 it's Cincy/Memphis/CSU/BYU.

Has Dennis Dodd been wrong about expansion or have I been reading him wrong?

BYU won't get an invite. They're not going to invite a school with the ego of Texas, another private shady religious school with its own set of sexual scandals.

I think they'll initially invite two. The two best available are BYU and Cincy. After that, if they decide to expand further, they should pick up CSU and one of the Florida schools.

Big school with some cache in the CFB world. They are the biggest name out there.

That's right, it's not the ACC network that changed the Big 12's approach, it's the ACC GOR extension.

Nothing here about actual play on the field...07-coffee3

This bodes well for BYU, UConn and Cincinnati since they are good in all 3 areas.

UConns geography is whats holding it back here. Though they along with Temple are perfect fits as options if ND ever fully joins the ACC.

What because they believe that the B1G will be targeting them next and they want to backload as much dough as they can on their deal?

UConn does have the most options outside of a B12 probably.

1) Wait for the ACC to expand.
2) Wait for the B1G to expand
3) Talk to the BE about joining in basketball, Indy in FB.

They don't need to get in the B12 like Houston does if they want to continue to grow their program.
