I would like to offer my thanks to the members of the Tulane Band for their presentation of the National Anthem before Saturday's game. They did an excellent job.

I agree. I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole band do it in September at the Dome.

I probably should add that Sunday's presentation was absolutely awful. Once the idiot cackeling got started with her distortion I relaxed from standing at attention and put my hat back on my head. When she was finished I shouted, "when are they going to do the national anthem?"

It was pretty bad, everybody around us was laughing at her. The best part was when she got to the end and tried to "jazz up" the word brave, as usual the crowd yelled 'Wave" and started cheeering. So her "rendition" got drowned out and she was still singing that one word as everybody was putting their hats on and taking sips of their drinks and whatnot else. That was probably the worst rendition this year, and they've run the gamut.

I went to Loyola's graduation ceremonies this morning. A graduating senior performed the anthem. She did it in the traditional manner, and it was great. Stylilized presentations suck.
