This "discussion" is very similar to Obama's use of "ISIL" vs "ISIS" Choice of words matters, and intent is demonstrated by such choices. The use of BCE was chosen for a reason, just as Obama chooses to use ISIL.

Just another example of how we describe things and events are so much important than the actual things and events. In essence, the Balkanization of the United States is progressing nicely.

Hell, nobody's actually distinguishing anything from anything else. It's the same damn year. AD 1956 is exactly the same year as 1956 CE. They just changed the terminology, with no substantive effect, because atheist academics were butthurt over BC/AD tying things to the approximate birth of Jesus Christ. So they keep the tie to the birth of Christ but change the terminology to pretend they are doing something else.

I tend to say BC and AD. Can't remember using BCE and CE, but it's not one of those correct vs incorrect things to me.

CE and BCE are terms that are over 400 years old now. The "Common" is actually a reference to the age of Christianity.

More like 4 years old, as growing up I was always taught using BC and AD.

BCE and CE were first used in English in 1708, but have origins in 1615.

It doesn't matter what you were brought up being taught. You were probably taught that blood was blue until it hit oxygen. You were probably taught that Xmas is a new PC term. You were probably taught that your third time repeating kindergarten was called "Super Kindergarten". You weren't taught the entire story.

I'm also not only denying the label you give me, I'm denying the label that you said I give myself.

I think its important to remember also that no matter if people use BC or BCE, all who deny Christ as their Savior and Lord will stand before Him in Judgment one day, and ALL will bend the knee and confess with their mouth He is Lord. Everyone ever born will confess it in the end.

When you study the OT prophets and Christs words, you see them laying out our current time in grand detail. even the Middle east political situation perfectly parallels what is prophesied. Most of those ME divisions did not exist for almost 2000 years, multiple empires ruled them. What has developed the last 70 years has perfectly set the table for the end times. Russia and the Muslim nations are going to attack Israel in at least 2 major wars. Most people do not realize how well Israel is doing in food production and natural energy reserves.

No one is really going to help them when the fighting begins, not even us.

We are going to sit back, protest, and watch.

You can read all abut it in Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 12 & 14. Revelation 13 and 16-19. Psalms 83 may be a precursor to the final invasion.



It will begin with the world declaring peace and the birth of a "new age" for mankind.
