Jacksonville State is transfer U.
It was announced today that Reggie Meant, the starting def tackle at the University of Kentucky left the school and has enrolled at Jacksonville State. It's amazing they get all those transfers. Good players from Al, Au and Ga have allb landed there. They've got to be a favorite to win the national championship.

I know he wouldn't have to sit out for the year due to going FBS to FCS, but would he be allowed to just join the JSU team immediately and play as of right now? School already started everywhere, right? Most students (as in, non-athletes) wouldn't be able to do that I imagine.

We used to benefit from these transfers under Rocco. Sam Houston has lived off of them for decades. The re is no shame in giving theese guys a second chance.

We have turned our focus to building therough recruiting which I admire. But I don't look down my nose at others who choose a different path.

It's not like we wouldn't accept them if SEC starters came knocking on our door. Like you said, I don't think it's an area of focus for us.

Some of our better players have been transfers. I wasn't sticking my nose up at them or anyone else who did it. I just find it crazy that someone can transfer after school started and be eligible to play immediately.
