After Week 1
Wisconsin making a statement win this afternoon.

Lovie looks to have jump started something in Champaign.

Chris Ash has a lot of work to do turn it around. Tough game to start the season for him.

Nice tribune to Foltz out at Lincoln.

RE: After Week 1
I'm impressed by Wisconsin. They played well and won a tough game. That cheap shot at the end of the game by the LSU player is completely uncalled for and he should miss some significant time. I'd suspend him for SEC games, ones that really matter and not whoever their next opponent(s) is since it's likely to be cupcakes before conference play starts.

Well done Nebraska with your tribute.

Northwestern.... Come on man! At least Rutgers got drilled by a good team. NW didn't get destroyed but to lose to a MAC school, that just shouldn't happen, especially with as high of expectations NW had after winning 10 games last year. This is why the experts weren't on the bandwagon for you NW.

Minnesota took care of business and it wasn't pretty but they won. The same could be said for Indiana and Purdue but their bar is a little lower.

I think overall, the Big Ten had a solid opening week.

As a SPARTAN, I was upset at the number and critical yardage that Michigan State gave up in fouls. Very proud of Wisconsin for beating LSU.

RE: After Week 1
My Maryland vs Howard take:

1st half went pretty well. Perry Hills didn't throw much (can't blame them considering the debacle that was last years turnover count) but Hills went 14 for 19 for 126 yards. The RB's looked pretty good and had A TON of chances. I'm interested to see what OC Walt Bell does when (not if) teams start putting a bunch of people in the box what happens to the Terps offense? Is he keeping it simple for Hills/not wanting to throw much or is it him not wanting to give other teams much tape to prepare for MD? True freshman Tyrell Pigrome got some time and looked pretty good (he's going to be exciting after he gets some experience under his belt). Also…coach Durkin had 13 true freshman playing. 13 redshirts gone, so it is a get experience/win now time. The defense played pretty well first half but as more players got experience in the 2nd half Howard was able to put up 2 TD's. MD's secondary is scary (not in a good way). They need some help. JC Jackson (JUCO transfer) was suppose to play but was held out for "academic reasons" and Durkin isn't sure when he'll return.

Next week should be interesting and be a good measuring stick. The Terps play at FIU (whom Indiana just beat). Also, Howard goes to Rutgers. So that is going to go a long way to show where Maryland really stands.

PS…THANK GOD FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!!

We've always started season underperforming, I'll wait till the next game to make a judgement. Furman is a very good FCS school and penalties should go down with more play time.

I don't know about Furman being that good. They were only 4-7 last season and haven't been to the FCS Playoffs since 2013. I know MSU starts slow, but to start like this with a bye week right after leading into a road game at ND, its going to be tough.

I thought Michigan and Ohio St. did what they were supposed to do week 1. I thought Wisky had a good win vs. LSU. But LSU was so overrated going into this season. Good defense, extremely one dimensional offense. Fournette can only do so much.

NW was a let down. But Western is a good football team.

And Rutgers well...... is still Rutgers.

RE: After Week 1
Only 2 weeks in but NU's season is definitely pointing downward. Conference games have not started in earnest but the Cats won't be winning any if their offense can't perform better than they did last Sat vs IL ST. IL St did play in the FCS title game 2 years ago and had a deep playoff run last year but it's still FCS. Big 10 teams are not supposed to lose to in state FCS teams.

Oline has to man up

03-puke

There perhaps one big purge will leave the Cats free of any of the negative effects of the last 2 games.

GO U NU!
