I'm pumped for our game against Pittsburgh! Being youngish for a Penn State fan, I wasn't all that aware of the rich rivalry between Penn State and Pitt. Having this rekindled has brought out so much more rivalry feelings that Big Ten schools don't provide. It is refreshing and I hope we kick their teeth in.

Terps review with win over FIU.

2 games 2 wins for coach Durkin. 1 over Howard (lowly FCS) and a 41-14 win last night over FIU (low FBS). Keys to the win include an amazing stable of RB's, QB Perry Hills NOT THROWING INT's and JC Jackson getting into the game last night. The offense looks pretty good but the run defense has a lot of room to improve before it starts playing conference games. Overall I think most Terps fans are pretty excited and things are looking good. When you have 2 games completed in the head coaching career, you still have a lot to prove but things are going in the right direction.

Still early but Purdue down to Cincy. 14-7 with a bit over 8 mins left in the 2nd quarter. Not sure this is expected to be a Purdue win but those losses still sting.

It's great to have Pitt back on the schedule and I really enjoyed the game. I agree totally with your comment that this game brings out rivalry feelings so much more than the Big Ten schools. Let's face it, we will never be the main rival to the BIG schools that were there when Penn State joined the league and while Rutgers and Maryland are a nice add there isn't the history with those schools that Penn State has with Pitt. I have my doubts this series will resume perpetually but I hope these schools find a way to make it happen. I'm pretty sure Pitt would be all in for it based on statements made by the AD, but Penn State's administration still seems to not get it that the most PSU fans want it. I'll enjoy it for another three years and hope for more.

I'd say the same thing even if Pitt lost the game down the stretch. Pitt and PSU needs each other. I'm really unsure why Franklin wears the unrivaled thing like it's a badge of honor. Everything about this past week from twitter and facebook wars to tailgating, and the game itself was fun. I've been to games against WVU, and if just one PSU game surpassed those games, imagine how intense this will be in two years. Best of luck to PSU the rest of the way. #5 was a beast.
