#2 player Zion Williamson of 2018 visiting wku
Don't expect to get him but for him to give us an unofficial visit for our Hilltoppers hysteria.

Why do you not expect to get him? We just landed the 5th best player in the nation and 55th best player in nation for 2017, at this point I expect any player to come here with Stans at the control...

You had an in for the 5th best player. Elite talent likes to join other elite talent, so that's why I won't say WKU has no shot at this player, but it isn't exactly the same situation as landing the #5 player.

Still has connections with Williamson...My point is I am not expecting to land every year a top 10 player, but with Stans at the helm I am not saying it cannot be done either...

There is a shot. But I also don't expect to when you have every blue blood after him. I love the muts fans butt hurt over our recruiting success.

Guy has offers from Arizona, Kansas, Duke, UNC, UCLA, Louisville, and about 20 other schools.

Williamson on not discounting WKU. “I like them because they are trying to build up their program,” he said. “They’re trying to build a come up and I like what they are trying to do. I don’t push a school like that to the side.

“I wasn’t ranked one time and now that I am people are starting to show me publicity. I look at them as like they are almost the same as me. They’re trying to really build something, so I’m not pushing them to the side.”

We got Mitchell Robinson in part because assistant coach Shammond Williams is his godfather. If that's who you're referring to. Kind of hard to tell in this string.

I'm not aware of any connection to Zion Williamson other than Stansbury is not afraid to go after the high profile players.

I'll be at Hysteria tonight and hopefully see Zion in attendance. He's an '18 kid so his actual signing date is so far from now this really means nothing concrete. But to get a kid at his level to even visit is impressive as hell to me.

I've been very impressed with the job Stansbury has done on the recruiting trail. Not just the top 10 player in Robinson either. I'm very impressed with the 3 graduate transfers he picked up for this year. All 3 of these players started for their respective teams. All 3 are very different in what they bring. What all of them do bring is very solid real college experience to the backcourt. When he got here he had no backcourt. Now he should have one of the better ones in the conference. No excuses to be honest. We should win THIS year.

Back to the original post. I'm really hoping he'll be here tonight but in the past I've heard that so and so will visit and something always comes up. It'd be pretty cool if this guy is actually in Diddle tonight.

I dread that the women's team is tied in with Hysteria every year. It drags it out forever when 90% of the people there only want to see the men's team. I completely understand why they do it. It'll be the most people that see the women's team all year. Doesn't mean I enjoy it.

A friend and I were talking this morning and we came to the conclusion that the NCAA will probably rent an office building in Etown Ky. That way they can go 30 miles up the road to Louiville, 65 miles down the road to BG or 85 miles across the Bluegrass Parkway to Lexington.

yep same. I stopped going when they took the scrimmage out of the event. The scrimmage is now a separate event. Madness is just the players getting introduced and then a dunk and three point shot contest.

Not much fun and way too long.

It is stunning what you guys have been able to achieve this offseason. And it now looks to be carrying forward into future recruiting classes. Well done!

(For those of us who will be facing you two or three times a year, I just have to keep reminding myself that you are only allowed to play five of your players at any one time.)

Appears all of the national media reports of him coming to WKU tonight were false. He will be attending the event at North Carolina.

"Late Friday night"

Maybe he has a private plane to take him straight from BG to Chapel Hill?

Jk.

The only problem with that is "late night" starts at 730 so I guess not that late? KNow you were joking but maybe UNC needs to rename their "late night" basketball event..

Update he is rescheduling WKU trip to a later time, so not all is lost...

HE'S A BUM...

isn't that what happens when you get ditched

probably not really all that good anyways

who needs him

there's bigger fish that him

and as we can see 17-18 year old kids change their mind as often as you change a new born. I really don't get up or down on recruits. The ones that do make it to Western are then family. If you don't...who where you? I no longer care

of course I'm only joking about the bum and the 4 lines that follow
