see above your post....that applies to yaz too
No cockiness about that. If we win out its in Shreveport. If we lose to you its in Bowling Green. Only thing stopping that is a WKU meltdown in the next few weeks.

Construction of the new press box facility will make the current press box unusable after Tech hosts UTSA on November 12.

RE: Question re: tiebreaker for hosting
Just for thought:
MTSU (3-1) UTSA, @Marshall, @Charlotte, FAU-----likely 7-1
ODU (3-1) Marshall, USM, @FAU, FIU-----likely 5-3
WKU (4-1) FIU, UNT, BYE, @Marshall----likely 7-1
FIU (3-2) @WKU, BYE, Marshall, @ODU (I hope its 20 degrees and snowing that day)---likely 4-4
a three way tie with 1, 2 and 3 losses are all possible for the East
a four way tie with 2-3 losses per team
Marshall plays everyone, pride will help them play spoiler
FIU @WKU is the key game for tie madness

If Tech were to host it has already been decided to have it at the Independance Bowl in Shreveport.
WTH??? Why would La Tech commit their facility to something else on CCG weekend? WTH??? This is a real question. This is the first I have heard of this.
You should get out more often. Seriously.

RE: Question re: tiebreaker for hosting
Why would a team be able to "host" the game but not actually host it? Seems like they would say sorry. Sort of how wku had to change the high school sports finals last year or it would have been at usm

What? Are you talking about the stadium renovation in Ruston?

I assume that's what he's talking about...
Western had to get the State HS playoff Championships to move some of their games around so Western could host.
I understand timelines and the press box not being ready by the first of next season...but that could be easier to arrange than moving the conference championship....play your first couple games on the road. Or in Shreveport.
But if Tech wins the east...I would rather play in Shreveport than Ruston...where Western has trouble winning

RE: Question re: tiebreaker for hosting
It was announced when we announced the pressbox renovation. I assume they cleared it with the conference then. I don't know the specifics of the WKU situation, but maybe they didn't have a viable alternative to host the game. Shreveport is only an hour away and we have hosted home games there before.

How is it harder? How many times has Tech opened the season with 2 home games? Do they next year? If not it's one game...
if you can move a conference championship game with a week's notice then it's just as easy to move a regular season game with 9 months notice. And we really don't know if that one game needs moving...
I guess it would depend on weather and many other things that affects construction work. Hell they could finish early. Or then again they could still not get it finished in time for next season....
if they only have a 2 week window

Shreveport is 40 minutes from Ruston. The area has many more hotels, restaurants, shopping, and an airport.
Also we host MissState early next year so it has to be done

Me personally I would rather the CCG be moved to there instead of playing on your home field. I don't mind it at all ...just auguring another point of view on if Tech chooses to not play it at Tech...it should go to the eastern school
But...

Consider this, next year Tech opens with back-to-back home games, week 1 against Northwestern State and week 2 against Mississippi State.
They could certainly move the Northwestern State game to Shreveport, but if holding off construction until after the CCG puts completion before week 1 in jeopardy, any unexpected delays in construction could put week 2 in jeopardy, and having to move Miss State to Shreveport, from my perspective, is worse than moving the CCG.

RE: Question re: tiebreaker for hosting
So in your opinion Misst St is more important than the CUSA championship game? I don't look at it that way...
moving a game is a decision that should not be made at this time. Still months before that should happen because it's very possible this could get completed in that time frame.
The most important game anyone in this conference will play this year and every year after unless they get that huge payday bowl...
is the conference championship game
By Tech scheduling work at the end of their home season they are saying they value their OOC games more than a conference championship game

BTW on most projects that takes this long to complete the last couple weeks will be working just making it pretttty.....
so even if not completely completed probably could still be used for 5 hours on a Saturday afternoon...or night
What is really needed? few chairs, few tables, internet, phone connecting? If FIU can use a tent....

What are you going on about? This has been planned since last November. This is not last minute. Pretty far from it. We applied to host championship in Independence Stadium this year. It was never going to be in Ruston this year.
