Sure. Control the clock and score every drive and get the ball last. Other than that it will be ugly. Tech 52-21

RE: ***** UTSA @ La Tech *****
Yes, but you will need to play very well and we will need to leave our "A game" in the locker room. It happens.
To be more specific, Tech gives up a bunch of first downs and short passing yards on defense. We rank towards the very bottom of the nation in both categories. UTEP, for example, did a very good job of moving the chains on us at home and limited us to only 8 offensive possessions for the entire game. I think UTSA has the offense to do this to us.
On defense, you will need to drop 8, bracket Henderson and Taylor and concede the run game to us. We aren't explosive running the ball. North Texas did a nice job doing this on Saturday.
Combine the UTEP offense philosophy and the North Texas defensive philosophy and it can be a low scoring game that will come down to the intangibles... turnovers, field position, TD vs FGs, etc...
I do think North Texas tried this exact game plan and still lost 45-24 though. They failed to pick up some crucial 3rd down plays in the second half and the game got away from them with a few punts.

Lets see last two years, where LATech has been the better team the most they have won by is 7 points. This year UTSA is a lot better in all phases, so Yes they have a chance.
They will cover the spread opened at 20. In fact I think it is a one score game.

La Tech has been good all year. UTSA has a lot of momentum. Should be a good one for the west division crown. Can't wait!

We are still a year or two behind of being a very good team. We are ahead of schedule & could make this a decent game. The long quick scores by LA Tech will kill us, turnovers as well. La Tech is very good and playing on the road will be a challenge.
I still am having trouble believing this is for the rights to sole possession of first in the West.

Left me scratching my head (lol). Well, if you meant in comparison to La Tech, it did. If you meant we're better in all phases than we were last year, that's true, but it's true of La Tech also.
Defensively, we're comparable. Offensively, La Tech is head & shoulders above us. One area where we have fared better is in the turnover category as we've been opportunistic. I think we're gonna need to have some breaks go our way, and cause some turnovers to have a shot.

I think if we come out playing close to our best, we'll be fine. Just dont turn the ball over, which we havent done a lot lately. There was a dropped/bobbled pass yesterday that ended up being an INT, Im sure that'll be addressed. It was all on the reciever.
UTSA has won big the past two games, and I cant help but think turnovers were a major reason for that. MTSU and UNT had a lot, didnt they?

Why? Big if, but if we pull it off we'd improve to 5-2 in conference play and they'd drop to 5-2. The tiebreaker is the head to head match-up and having just beat them we'd have that tiebreaker.

Another thing worth noting is that this team doesn't get blown out. Arizona St, So Miss, and MT were all big favorites with explosive offenses. UTSA choked the first one away and won the last two.
UTSA definitely has a puncher's chance imo (no pun intended towards Punch U).

Because we have a new first time coach & I feel we are playing with fresh & sophomores mainly. As I stated above I feel next year or the following will be our year. As long as we stay healthy. I'm very happy with coach Wilson & his recruiting is going to be amazing.
I think you misunderstood my reasoning as to why I can't believe it, just meaning I'm surprised we are in this position.

lol my mistake
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't have predicted that we'd be in this position either.

I guess you can't blame them but there is a reason why the line is 19-20 points and we play really well at home.

No UTSA is playing with house money. Nobody thought UTSA would be in this position to win the West. All the pressure will be on LaTech
