Jim Donnan will not coach at Marshall again.

He is making a lot of money as a television announcer.

Coach Kueck will be our coach.

Kueck will be the coach I figure as well. Donnan would be good, but he needs an associate coach to do the promotions and the big green stuff.

People seem to forget it was under his watch that we committed the violations that led to our loss of scholarships and probation. No thanks, I'll pass on good ole Jim.

wouldn't every Herd fan agree that Jim Donnan would make the best football COACH for the Thundering Herd?

Kenny how long have you actully followed Marshall football.

Don't you know that most likely the steps are going to be repeated again.

Just say no to Donnan.

Do I like what he done the years he was here, yes, he moved the program forward, would I take him back today and get a chance ong another loss of scholarships, NOT A CHANCE.........

I have followed Herd football in depth only for about 3 or 4 years...but I've been a hard core fan since the 1999 perfect season.

My first Marshall game was 2 months after moving to the United States...the 1992 I-AA National Championship game with Troy Brown, etc... That was well before I even knew WHAT football was. :D

But I know that the work of Donnan led to Pruett's stunningly successful first season - the perfect 15-0 in 1996. 04-cheers

There was a place in time for Jim, right now is not the time to return to the Marshall sidelines as the head man.

Kenny, correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not trying to talk smack, but weren't you still in Saudi Arabia/India when Donnan was here? The man isn't the right person to lead our program now. He fulfilled his role getting us to I-A and that was the extent of his legacy here. He's not the right coach to take us into C-USA.

I said that my first Herd game was the 1992 National Championship...and I arrived in the States in 1992 also. Exactly what years was Donnan coach Marshall? Wasn't it 1992-1995 or something like that?

Ok, so you were here. But even so, Donnan does not have the social skills to come back here. He didn't know how to funraise, talk to boosters, even make critical halftime adjustments. He's not the coach we need.

Again, from what I've heard, a lot of key alumni aren't fond of Donnan... but my sources are other posters.

I'm been going on things you've said, and what people like DA have said on the other board.

That's a good question. I'm personally not in contact with many of them, so I don't know the exact sentiments.

It would be worth looking into, because I know that a lot of fans thought of Donnan from the start.

Reasons for chosing Donnan:

1) He's a proven winner
2) He can bring great talent
3) He currently has a job that has nothing to do with what he's greatest at. 04-rock
