We once vacationed at a timeshare in nearby Beech Mountain. Loved the area. We stop at Mount Mitchell, tallest peak east of the Mississippi River, and stopped at a neat mountain called Grandfather Mountain with it's mile high swinging bridge attraction and wildlife preserve.

I've used stamps bigger than Jimmy Smith Paaaaaaaaaaaaark. Lol, seriously, dude worked for the town of Boone for like decades, and they gave him a 20 ft by 50 ft patch of grass in his name. It's got a nice bench though.
