FootballScoop.com is pretty reliable:

Quote: Marshall scoop: Early names Mark Synder, DC, Ohio State; Tony Peterson, OC, Minnesota; Mickey Matthews, HC, James Madison; Larry Kueck, OC, Marshall

I want Mark Snyder, if not then I'd like Mickey Matthews, I just don't think Tony is ready yet, not to take over a Marshall. I might even go as far as taking KC Keeler Delaware's HC.

I hear that Greg Brandon wants out of BG. No wait, I couldn't be that mean to you guys.

Good luck on the search for a new coach. No matter what some people might say, Pruett's record speaks for itself.

My #1 choice, far and away is Synder.

He's proven to be a great coach at the 1-A level, you don't become DC at Ohio State for not knowing your stuff. He has a great reputation as a recruiter. He's a local guy and MU grad, which means he might not be willing to bolt so easily for another job.

Thanks. I always enjoyed the rivalry with Toledo. It is nice to go play a game and not think you are at a local high school game.

I wouldn't even mind Jim Grobe back. He coached Ohio to the only 2 winning seasons they had in 28 yrs. And now he's doing wonders at Wake.

The only thing about Grobe is we don't have the players right now to execute his offense...

Like I said I wonder how a KC Keeler (Delaware HC) or Bobby Hauck (Montana HC) would work. They both run a spread offence. Would they be able to run it well enough for C-USA and our tough OOC teams. Im afraid we may start to look like N. Texas somewhat with one of them. Lose every OOC game and win in Conf. then lose the bowl game. It would still be iteresting if 1 of those 2 where in the running.

Whoever we get, I want them to open up the field... I already miss the high-flying days of a couple years ago.

I'm a huge Herd fan...and I think most Herd fans would agree with the fact that the swagger had been lost these past two seasons.

I feel that this might have been for the best...even though Pruett is indeed one of the NCAA's all time winningest coaches. 04-bow

So what does everyone think about some big name coaches like Rick Neuheisel, Jim Donnan, Terry Bowden, John Cooper. Any one of these guys would give Marshall a big nationwide boost in image.

Bowden is a WVU guy, Neuheisel is the QB coach for the Ravens and making more money he would here as head coach, Cooper is a run left, run right, run up the middle, punt coach...

Donnan wouldn't be bad.

Donnan I don't want back.....

He was here when we got in trouble with the NCAA, Pruett just happen turn it in was all. Plus haven't you heard you can never return home, once you leave.

Heres a name that hasn't been mentioned since your're doing former coaches

George Chaump-- All he's doing is coaching HS in PA., but again its the return factor.
