I thought they should have/were going to follow App State to the SunBelt. Oh well.

In the end, losing JMU can be easily filled with someone else. It's when you lose multiple programs, as four years ago, that the direction of the conference becomes tenuous. The CAA did a nice job on replacements then, I expect they would again.

Thoughts on JMU replacements that are lateral or a gain for the conference?

With football, would be tough to replicate, not tough to replace though with a suitable member. They just won the NC so any answer there - today - would be considered a step down. In reality though, you have plenty of candidates you can recruit already mentioned: Furman, Holy Cross, Lehigh.

In basketball and other sports, name your choice.

Would take Fordham if for Football only. If all-sports, would try to take Maine or UNH.

I'm a big fan of the TN socon schools, ETSU and Chattanooga. Both have strong basketball programs and both play FCS football so those numbers would be solidified. Geography a bit of a stretch but I'm a big fan of bringing those 2 on board

Lehigh is not going to leave the Patriot unless Lafayette comes with them, and even so I have doubts they would be interested.

Wichita to the AAC seems likely. MVC is holding a meeting to figure out a replacement. I doubt this affects the CAA, though it might put us ahead of the MVC in terms of top mid major basketball conferences.

Maine and UNH (especially Maine) are the dreck of college basketball. Those teams will live and die in America East. Nobody wants to go to Orono, Maine in the winter unless they have to.
