They were due. I wonder what is up with Fresno State? They had a good thing going for a while.

Cincinnati has been bad for the past two seasons. They got rid of Tuberville and will most likely improve.

I think Tuberville said he was going to run for governor of Alabama.

I had forgotten that the UofA employee had been fired. Has Bear Bryant Jr told Tubby he's the next hire?

Bryant would never support an Auburn-based candidate to be Governor of Alabama.

Tuberville announced just a few days ago that he's not going to join that campaign, after all. It's not impossible for a non-Bammer to get elected Gov. of that state, but it is very, very difficult. Not surprised that Tuberville decided to do other things.

RE: Orlando Sentinel Countdown
For some reason the writer has UTEP returning 4 starters and losing 7 on defense when it's exactly the opposite. Not that it will matter much.

You guys must not be able to recruit many guys to play out there. What is it? UTEP has a beautiful stadium and the city supports the teams.

Every time I see 130 I giggle. If I could go to Vegas and bet that UAB would not finish 130 I would bet a couple paychecks.

I would bet against UAB being dead last as well. Clark is too good of a coach for that to happen. I beleive he's been getting some good players who are reared up and playing with a chip on thier shoulder. Any team that looks over them will likely pay for it. That said, I expect depth to be an issue and as the season goes on injuries will have a greater impact than established teams. I expect ups and downs this year for UAB. However it plays out, just playing again will be a win. Bowl eligible is going to be tough. I see 3-5 wins.

I would bet that for sure. No way the Blazers finish dead last. They were a pretty good team when they were dismantled.

How many players from the 2014 squad are still at UAB? I understand some stuck around and a few left but came back.

When you look at the players from that UAB team that went 6-6 and what they did at the school they landed at....

I think Clark underachieved

There were a lot of kids that transferred from UAB that played very important roles the next year for winning teams. Western had 2 and IU had 1 and a few other teams had UAB players as starters. So while I think he's a good coach....

he still has a lot to improve on

And if I weren't such a homer I'd bet that UAB has little trouble with my Owls this fall.

As it is... we're well past halfway thru the bottom 30 and no Rice Owls at all. And I'm happy to be ranked ahead of two teams that didn't play last year.
