In the middle of the summer students drove in, alumni drove in, and people in the area went and searched all over Ruston trying to find XX before the vet tech came clean. I don't know how many other schools in CUSA have live mascots, but they are a part of the Univeristy and the family. If ULL or whoever wants to make fun of the Summit situation, Higgins getting his DWI, IK punching Geno, go ahead, but XX's death is a bit classless (I know this is just natural for some) given how he died and what the acting Tech means to the Univeristy family.

I am interested in the SBC board because many members of both conferences share a history. I always liked USL until you folks started your bashing of Tech and your senseless name game. You will not admit that your name game is illegal and unethical when it is plain to see. You folks planned an end run around the law that you lobbied the Louisiana Legislature for, suckered NLU into going along with you, then attempt to claim a name, i.e. UL and/or Louisiana that you have no legal or ethical right. The law expressly forbids the use of any school from using UL but you folks have it on your ball caps. Also, it expressly states that no school in the UL System is a flagship, which the use of Louisiana on your football jerseys certainly implies, and you attempt to force media outlets, etc., to go along with you. No other school in La agree with your back door attempt, yet you claim it is your "rightful" name, but fail to explain why. If you desire the name, why will you not go through the proper procedures to legally and ethically make such a claim? That is a rational question to which I have never seen a rational answer.

We are not from southern Arkansas. Acadiana does not represent the majority of the State of Louisiana, so to call us "Southern Arkansans" is ludicrous. I have always enjoyed the Cajun people and generally have found them to be friendly. However, your "fans" of @ Lafayette make it seem rather "cultish" and much less welcoming or appealing than you folks wish to portray. I have Cajun roots and family myself, but I nor they behave as you "fans" of @ Lafayette. Anyway, to say that @ Lafayette represents the State of Louisiana is completely false, as geographically it represents about a third of the state. The population of "true Cajuns" is much less.

Also, if I were to be mean, the people that settled in south Louisiana were "kicked out" of Canada's Maritime Provinces as undesirables. So, actually, the true cultural Cajuns are of French speaking Canadian descent.

The fact that you are getting upset and reverting to name calling is even further indication of this. A non-snowflake reaction would be providing insight as to how Hud and the new AD plan to proceed, or openly condemning the players and/or Hud.

Your football program over the last 24 months has been a huge black-eye on what should be a new era in your athletic program. Trying to point fingers at other schools doesn't do you any good when those schools will admit to their problems and address them. Hud struggles to recruit, develop, control, and get wins over quality opponents. The only reasons to keep him are wins against teams with losing records, NOLA bowl wins, and that due to infrastructure upgrades going on and how they are financed you are unable to buyout his contract.

What is a "snowflake?" I've read that term even in the newspapers but don't know to whom it applies. Please enlighten me.

No one in Cajun Nation is defending these kids' actions but I do believe in letting things sort themselves out before impugning kids' character. The idea of it being a prank certainly makes sense to me. I'm not a thief but if I were, I'm not taking 12 of my closest friends with me. That just doesn't make sense. And who the heck steals underwear and 3.5 pairs of socks?!? Now, these kids showed an extreme lack of common sense but unless their intent was malicious, I don't see this as being a huge deal. Absolutely punish them but use some common sense in the punishment. If it was malicious, then throw the book at them.
If shots are taken at my University, I will certainly take shots back. I, in no way, like how these things make our fine university look.
