04-jawdrop If about 15% of your team (13 of 85 scholarship players), is in jail, does that amount to a loss of institutional control?

By the way, anyone hear anything on Coastal Carolina's hooker/cheerleader issues?

Some Belt universities seem to be having serious issues.

Is being a criminal an NCAA violation? I honestly don't know. @ Lafayette only got a slap on the wrist for academic fraud which I would think is the worst NCAA violation possible.

The story takes a turn, however, because Magee was identified by the victim, an LSU football fan. The fan claims to have recognized Magee because he was wearing his jersey at the time of the burglary.

Yes, you read that correctly. He apparently wore his own football jersey when he robbed an apartment building, and then hung around long enough to ask the victim what happened, before returning the stolen goods.

It's important to remember that these are all just allegations until proven, but...it's tough not to take note of that detail.

Allegations or not, its still pretty funny!!

especially after all that **** they gave Tech fans when Ryan Higgins got arrested for a DWI

Also, we gave it pretty good about LATEX killing 2 of their mascots and the WBB coach knocking up his point guard. So go ahead...

Just one mascot died by a local vet tech not by a Louisiana Tech employee or student. The other mascot retired earily which had issues with the heat.

Overall, your program is joke. 13 players arrested recently, ACT cheating scandal and still can't beat Tech in football, 4 players suspended over the **** Donald Trump dance video in the locker room...

For these Cajuns to continue to make fun of the death of an animal, when no one feels worse than those that made a mistake and wouldn't be doing the job they do if they didn't love animals, shows how classless they truly are. All the while, using various forums to falsely criticize Tech and CUSA, their own conference and ULM, committing academic fraud and claiming that @ Lafayette is innocent and Saunders did all that on his own (which is laughable). If the captain of the ship was unaware of what one of his officers was doing then that shows lack of leadership. Maybe he didn't know but he certainly should have and put a stop to it. Plus, the name game they created and dragged Tech into by claiming Ruston is part of our name. Tech folks didn't care what they called themselves until they started that nonsense. They aren't even original as they emulate my calling them @ Lafayette, which in their case is part of their name. The law specifically includes athletics. Plus they have the UL symbol all over campus. They are just a dishonest lot.

Not to mention there has been an @Lafayette nut chasing me from board to board for over 2 years now because he didn't agree with something I posted on the CUSA forum. They use various forums to try to influence others to dislike Tech and have been quite successful in that endeavor, which I don't understand. It doesn't make sense that they have such hatred of Tech and, seemingly, personal hatred toward Tech grads and supporters.

I was shocked that the Dillon kid wasnt named in the academic charges. It was always suspicious the large jump in his act score.

Also recently had a player arrested for rape.

I always find it weird how ULL fans point out XX's death. He was in the care of a vet (LSU alumn) at the time and most Tech fans were beyond pissed. In the middle of the summer students drove in, alumni drove in, and people in the area went and searched all over Ruston trying to find XX before the vet tech came clean. I don't know how many other schools in CUSA have live mascots, but they are a part of the Univeristy and the family. If ULL or whoever wants to make fun of the Summit situation, Higgins getting his DWI, IK punching Geno, go ahead, but XX's death is a bit classless (I know this is just natural for some) given how he died and what the acting Tech means to the Univeristy family.

I hear they are clubbing Baby Chili Peppers in Lafayette

Aw isnt that the most snowflake thing? You can make fun of whatever but dont bring up the laturd vet leaving a bulldog in the summer heat without adequate water or . Thats off-limits?!?

You don't bring it up. You claim Tech murdered their mascot. I don't think the vet left him outside. I think he wandered away while the caretaker was distracted or paying attention to other animals in his/her care. And what does "You can make fun of whatever" mean? You are the only one "making fun" in this thread. Plus, "making fun" of the death of a pet, anyone's pet, is truly classless and heartless. Someone made a mistake and no one feels worse about it than they. They wouldn't have been doing the job had they not loved animals, moron. Why don't you and your buddy LCF (aka ULM fan "Shonuf" and a plethora of other false monikers) bring your unfounded criticism to the Tech board and man up?

I only said it was classless and shows an extreme lack of intelligence to justify it reflecting on the University. If you have no problem with either than proceed right along cuz.

A snowflake reaction would be running to the board of a conference you have no affiliation with and scouring it for comments about your university then feeling an incessant need to comment on it.

Also, "Its OUR board. Private club. Get out", is so very snowflake of you. Lots of things interest me that I dont "belong" to. You cant be so narrow-minded. Or being from southern Arkansas, maybe you are.
Born and raised in the 337, has been and will always be home. I hold no ill-will towards ULL.

Never said it was a private club, only that the fact you feel the need to try and deflect anytime your school is mentioned is very snowflake. The fact that you are getting upset and reverting to name calling is even further indication of this. A non-snowflake reaction would be providing insight as to how Hud and the new AD plan to proceed, or openly condemning the players and/or Hud.

Your football program over the last 24 months has been a huge black-eye on what should be a new era in your athletic program. Trying to point fingers at other schools doesn't do you any good when those schools will admit to their problems and address them. Hud struggles to recruit, develop, control, and get wins over quality opponents. The only reasons to keep him are wins against teams with losing records, NOLA bowl wins, and that due to infrastructure upgrades going on and how they are financed you are unable to buyout his contract.

Does @ Lafayette have 2 NO Bowl wins or is it just 1?

It occurred back in the beginning of April and took 3 weeks for them to announce anything which allowed spring practice and the season ticket renewal deadline to pass. Most of them said it was a prank on the victim that got blown out of proportion.

So 13 players thought they would play a "prank" on an accused rapist. That program is in serious trouble. What a group of losers.

I have heard that story, along with an accompanying story reporting that at least one of the students told campus police that it was ok because with the victim being in police custody he didn't need the stuff, so it was first come first serve.

I heard both accounts from RCAF members, both seem plausible, the latter slightly more than the former.

That is odd reasoning. Do you think it will sell in court or will this ever go to court? I wonder if these 13 players are starters.

20-23 year olds are men, not kids whether their actions coincide with this or not is irrelevant. After your rant in this thread I ventured over to the RP thread and the SunBelt thread regarding this subject. What I've seen in those two threads speak volumes. There are those who realize the gravity of having 14 members arrested with pending felony charges in one offseason. With the current sanction imposed by the NCAA that means ULL at this time will most likely be out 20% of the allotted scholarship players in 2017-2018 due to actions committed by players and coaches. Despite that taking jabs at Tech and trying to dismiss it as being no big deal is the primary rationale of Cajun fans in those two threads. Is this whole athletics thing so new to your fans that possibly having 14 felonies committed during spring camp and having 20% less scholarship players than your peers is something you become dismissive of? I know this is not all fans, but with national headlines being made having this be the majority opinion on online message board does no service to your institution. FFS man, how can you not see this?

Also, if I read right their defense may be that it was OK with the victim as he was in jail so he didn't need the stuff. I didn't know he was an alleged rapist until I read it in this thread. Anyway, if it was OK with him it certainly seems that 1 of the 14 involved would have realized that the rational thing to do would be that the "victim" would inform the police that he was giving away his belongings to the 13 teammates. He certainly had the opportunity if he was in jail. His lawyer could have arranged this without them breaking and entering (my assumption) and theft ever being part of the equation. Even 18-22 year old "kids" would realize this would be the route to take.

Will @Lafayette have enough players to field a team. If all 13 players are suspended indefinitely does it free up the scholarships? Also, are there 4 others suspended?

I can't defend what our WBB coach did, but this murdering of mascots is getting old and shows how those @Lafayette lack any sense of reason or class.

Of course, these thin skinned @ Lafayetters will consider my post as a personal attack while believing their idiotic criticism of Tech grads as justified. They really get personal.

But HC Hudspeth has been "exonerated" from any wrong doing according to @ Lafayette fans. In other words, as captain of the ship he had no clue as to the waters they were sailing. Not a very good defense. This latest incident should show there is lack of institutional control @ Lafayette. The company line @ Lafayette is this was a college prank. Based on the evidence the police believe otherwise. That's a shame.
