Hey! I'm proud of the guys, despite it not being a mighty SEC championship, but suit yourself...

Anyone who thinks about being gay 24/7 must really be worried about their own manhood----you know they have shrinks for this kinda stuff, good luck.

Young from ODU will be tough to go against in terms of hitting. He is top four in all the slash line categories, which is really impressive. Plus, he was hitting .444 and had a .495 OBP in C-USA play.
It will come down to how much they weigh Braley being a two-way player (of course, he would need to finish up the year well first). They gave it to Owings in 2005 despite there being guys with better offensive and pitching numbers (I think?). He's the closest comparison in terms of performance; though his numbers were more dominant than Braley's.
Brad Lincoln was, hands down, the best pitcher in 2006 (or 07?) and hit a lot of home runs. But his other offensive numbers weren't that good.
With Braley, you are talking about a guy whose offensive numbers across the board are damn good. His pitching numbers are solid but not dominant. There hasn't really been a player in the conference to compare him to that I can think of off the top of my head.
Regardless, if he stays roughly where he is now at the plate and is 5-2 with a sub.-4 ERA, I would definitely give it to him. I hated the idea of him playing both ways going into the season because it is so difficult. But not only has he pulled it off, he's been a weekend starter for the last two months.
I think the rest of the awards are pretty open-and-shut:
Harris - Pitcher
Wallner - Freshman
Berry - Coach: If we win 3 of the next 4, including today. Most years, I would say give it to the Charlotte coach because of the improvement. But if a team runs away with the championship and is ranked in the Top 15-20, I think it goes to him. And it isn't like we have been dominant over the last several years.
Getting back to this...
Player of the Year: Think Burdeaux gets it. He leads the league in hits and RBI. Of course, he also has a lot more ABs than the other contenders. Did not know Young from ODU was having a good season as he is having. Braley has a strong case being solid on the mound and at the plate. Wallner maybe is a dark horse.
Pitcher: Harris or Laws, though I'd lean Harris. Bainbridge has regressed a little lately.
Freshman: Wallner. No question about that.
Coach: Berry will probably win it, but I'd give Jason Marshall a serious look. Dude has taken a team that was picked last by the coaches and D1 and has them 5th in the league.
Newcomer: Irby or Jackson Mims from Charlotte (ECU transfer). Maybe I'm forgetting someone but those 2 guys seem like the frontrunners.
Assistant Coach: Who knows? Our offense is top 5 in the country in scoring so Caillet is probably the favorite.

Forgot newcomer.
The Miranda kid from FAU is having a damn good year.
...or what about Colt Smith? If I were a voter, I would prioritize conference play stats. Smith is 5-0 with a 2.57 ERA in conference.
