House Speaker Paul Ryan hasn’t yet sent the bill to the Senate because there’s a chance that parts of it may need to be redone, depending on how the Congressional Budget Office estimates its effects. House leaders want to make sure the bill conforms with Senate rules for reconciliation, a mechanism that allows Senate Republicans to pass the bill with a simple majority.
And the revised CBO score is due out next week. It's quite possible if that comes back as damaging as expected that a new bill might not even make it out of the house.
Governing is hard when you're the majority, huh GOP?
Do you really want to stand behind legislation that actually butchered small businesses AND forced people to lose their jobs? Really?
Trump is the president BECAUSE of things like the ACA getting passed and not scrutinized. The grilling and delay of the AHCA is good for America. Let's get this thing right....
You own this just as much as the right does. You made Trump. You made the modern GOP.
Exactly. I could give a rip about some arbitrary, stupid "deadline". Hundred days, 250 days, whatever, who cares.
Get this thing right is what's important and getting rid of this soul crushing, health care denying, redistribution program known as zerOcare.
First time IN OUR HISTORY, under zerO, we've been shutting more businesses than opening them.
First. Time. Ever.
Let that sink in.

an article thats over 2 weeks old... thats all you got?
The video was taken before the voted on the bill that effects 1/6th of the economy.
Or are you going to pretend that you know all the consequences should this bill become law? The CBO hasn't even released their score on it yet for heaven's sake!
oh you mean the video that only asked three people? how many representatives are in the house?
I counted at least 6...but yeah...you stick with that fantasy that the rest all read it.
Quote:"Oh, gosh," Garrett said on MSNBC on Thursday morning when asked if he has read the entire text of the GOP's American Health Care Act.
"Let's put it this way: People in my office have read all parts of the bill."
"I don't think any individual has read the whole bill," Garrett said.
It's available to be read, that's the point. That Congress critters most often have staffers do the leg work of actually reading the entire text and offering summaries or pointing out high points and concerns alike is certainly nothing new, nor anything too concerning.
When legislation is blatantly lied about and NOT posted for public consumption as promised, then rammed through with shady vote buying, in the dark of night on a long holiday weekend, that's a problem. Not that Sanford hasn't read every word of the thing, he readily admits that.

Dude, you really need to stop with this nonsense that your GOP can do no wrong. THEY VOTED ON A ******* BILL WITH NO DAMNED CLUE HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST OR HOW MANY PEOPLE MIGHT LOSE INSURANCE, ETC.
No, the ACA process was not perfect, but it took nearly a year. The rammed through secretive meme is just idiotic to keep perpetuating...especially as justification for this pathetic AHCA process.
And yes, I understand that the staff reads the stuff and does the actual bill writing...but that's the same thing that occurred with the ACA. So for your ilk to keep trotting out Pelosi is even more pathetic.

Once people figure out that it was a POS, they'll beg the Republicans to do anything to solve the mess. At that point, a proper plan can be instituted.
May have to come to that.
With the petulant children that foisted this monstrosity on us taking their collective balls and going home, I guess they plan to stand steadfast behind it. Even as more and more insurance Co's pull out of markets entirely and millions more folks, who work hard and played by the rules, are denied not only "insurance" they now can't afford to use, but will have NO options at all.
Super majority in the Senate come '18, might be the only answer. Lot of people going to be hurt even further by the failing ACA between now and then.

Fact. You can look it up.
And hate to break it to you, yes zerO's thankfully no longer in office. But, the damage he did while there, and the real pain and suffering he has caused for millions will continue for years at a minimum, possibly decades.
What I think republicans should do is hold a series of public sessions to debate alternative approaches.
Democrats would have to either 1) participate or 2) be made to look like obstructionists. If a plan is developed fully in public and democrats then boycott it, even the MSM won't be able to make them look good, although I'm sure they would bust a gut trying.
Admittedly, I like this approach because I'm pretty sure that in the end the Bismarck approach that I prefer will come out the winner if everyone behaves reasonably and responsibly.

You can't. May as well STFU.
You don't have to say it dude. It exudes from nearly every comment you make.

Sorry...doesn't work that way. I need to see your evidence to judge it's veracity. Try again.
And FWIW, I googled and found nothing. In addition, I need to see your source to see what metrics they are using...what they are calling a business...and how they judged what exactly Obama did to cause it.
I look forward to seeing your link Monday morning when I return.
P.S.: I keep doing this in hopes that I will actually have to say you guys are right about these seemingly outrageous statistics about Obama. I really want to see it happen once. Make it happen my friend!

Anyone with any brains knew Obamacare wouldn't work, would never do anything close to what Obama and the Democrats said it would. Obama and the Dems lied to the American people and knew it was a lie. All we heard for the 1st two years was affordable, get subsidies, and on and on.
Problem is, Democrats are still clinging to Obamacare and will to the very end. Democrats own it - stand back and let it collapse totally.
Until then, too many ignorant people will still cling to the notion that someone else will pay for their health insurance. Not until there are no options, will the dumba$$es ever begin to figure it out.
Both Obamacare and Trumpcare are worthless. Until we get a full repeal and a true free market-based system in place, it will always be a problem for working families.

The Free Market way was failing before Obamacare came along. People were being priced out of the market long before the ACA came into law. Asked the many people who lost their health care insurance before ACA was past? They think ACA is a Godsend.

ACA isn't a god sent for anyone that can't afford the combination of premiums and then out of pocket. If they can't afford somewhere in the $7K-$10K range per year, ACA is useless.
If they can't afford both, they might as well have no insurance and show up at the ER and have the hospital eat whatever the costs are.

No, the Free Market way was not failing before Obamacare. First, because what we had before Obamacare bore no resemblance to the free market. Two, because it was not failing. But you are not going to abandon your false narrative.
Bismarck works because it is universal care with more free market than we have had in the US since at least the 1950s.

Both the ACA and this new nonsense need to be scrapped and some type of Bismarck system installed. I don't understand why those in power don't look at what is ALREADY being done successfully and copy it...not what is a proven failure. This is not rocket science.

The major problems with the free market had to do with Reagan's law that he past in the 1980s where hospitals can't turn away people who do not have health care. That included Illegals can get free health care, and we all wound up paying for them. 2.It is the insurance companies at fault as well for dropping or raise the premiums of people in the late 1980s to the late 1990s where people wound up being priced out. The problem had to do with number 1 with Reagan's crap. 3.The drug companies raised prices throughout the 1990s. When there are no generics for certain expensive drugs, many people wind up paying more for the meds.
