Should I make another poll for how long ESPN keeps using "E. Carolina" or "E. Car" on game broadcasts?

Sorry...S. Florida

For USF, at least there is another university with those initials. It'd be better if South Florida accepted what it was instead of trying to become a Miami clone, look at that logo.

Who else has those initials?

ESPN made them do that. ESPN needed a Miami replacement for the Big East so they added South Florida. Then they had them change their logo to a U in bulk for. Obvious copy cat. I think it's time for USF to rebrand.

East Carolina techincally doesn't exist.
City of BellArthur is nearby
It was founded as East Carolina Teachers and Training School.

I vote, Bellarthur University of Teachers and Training

BUTT Pirates for will look great on ESPN.

I just laughed so hard it was painful!

Incorrect, they started using the current logos in 2003 when they joined CUSA. They didn't join the Big East until 2005. http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/list_by...ida_Bulls/

And FWIW the old logos were trash anyway so they needed the rebrand.

E Carolina for ESPN.

ECU ATHLETICS STYLE GUIDELINES 2017:

“ECU” is the preferred reference followed by “East Carolina“ for use by announcers, on scoreboard displays, statistic abbreviations, etc.
For television in-game and studio graphics, the primary Pirate mark is preferred followed by the primary ECU word mark. E. Carolina, East Caro and other abbreviation’s are not acceptable.
For newscast (television) and newspaper graphic displays the primary Pirate mark is preferred followed by the primary ECU word mark.

Guess they didn't get the memo.
