I like what Edsall is recruiting. Give it a couple of years of conditioning and those now-legal 24-hour training tables, and those OL's he's got are going to be HUGE...

He actually was already contacted by the smu coach and told he would only be guaranteed walk on status and no scholarship.
He told them to take their offer and shove up their ass!

My cousin who is the #1 kicker in the state of New Jersey just won one of the biggest kicking competitions in Austin this past weekend. He won the punting competition with a 67 yard punt with a 4.6 hang time and the field goal competition with a easy58 yard field goal. He placed top 10 in the kickoff competition too. He is now considered one of the top 10 kickers in the nation after this weekend.
He really wants to go to UH but he is considering doing a year of juco since UH’s current kicker is a junior. Then he plans to red shirt his freshman year.
He has already been in constant contact with the UH coaches and even some of the boosters.

Congrats to your kin! We could really use him at Tulane but we just got a stud punter over the weekend.
Whatever he decides hopefully he ends up in #p6 world! Reliable kicking at the college level can win you an extra 2/3 games a year.
If I was looking at the punter's video correctly, he can throw too. Near the end of the video (247 website) he threw a 65 TD (?) on the money. It also showed him running from the QB position.
Post the link. I don’t think that was him but ill have to check.

If that doesn't work go to his recruitment page here and look for video on the right hand side. You can make it full page for easier viewing.

You talking about our guy Ryan Wright? He threw for almost 3000 yards and 31 TDs the last two years. 247 ranked him #1 punter in the country. The crazy thing to me is they list him as the 137th best prospect in CA....as a punter! There are so many talented kids coming out of CA every year, that really says a lot.
I'm hoping our staff can draw up some crazy trick plays for him.

RE: 2018 Recruiting
I'm hopeful for the UC class. Hopefully it hangs together through the early and regular LOI day in February and we can add one or two more JUCO/transfer kids towards the end.
Sadly, the biggest needs for the Bearcats are skilled positions that you don't usually find kids coming out of HS ready to compete in. Need some immediate help on the OL (JUCO?), because whoever is at QB will not be able to do much either running for his life or looking at the stadium from lying on his back. So the HS recruiting class will not have a huge impact next season but the bump will be felt downstream.

Who is William Foreman? I'm talking about Tulane's new punter recruit Ryan Wright, see --> https://247sports.com/college/tulane/Sea...ll/Commits or directly at https://247sports.com/Player/Ryan-Wright-46040423
Of course 247 website could be wrong I suppose.

Oh ok your original comment made it seem like you were talking about my cousin who is a kicker/punter. I accidentally misread your comment.

What's going on at UCF with your '18 class? SMU has lost 2 top ones to Arkansas with Morris and one to Syracuse. Might get that last one back, he's a Texan. HC Dykes putting together an experienced staff so far. We'll see how many of our now 16 he hangs on to and who he wants to finish it out.

We stole a recruit from Texas Tech over the weekend. Or he flipped his commitment anyway. Hopefully he's good.

That said, nice weekend Tulane! They picked up some solid 3 star players including 6'3" 312 lbs. DT Jeffrey Johnson who was recruited, and offered scholarships, by numerous P5 teams including Alabama. They moved up to 4th in the conference. Here is his impressive 247 page:
https://247sports.com/Player/Jeffery-Johnson-87751
We did have a good weekend, and as of now we're the #4 recruiting class in the conference, #64 nationally (on 247 sports). And Jeffery Johnson had offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, and LSU. Not super highly ranked on recruiting sites, but clearly recruiters see a lot to like, and I'm thrilled to have a great DT coming on.

UC got another commitment. An 85+ 3 star DE from Florida with a bunch of P5 offers as well as UCF, USF and a few other AAC schools. You guys may know more about him than we do since he just popped up on our radar on an official visit last week.
