They don’t seem to chase kids who they recruited once before- to post grad juco or when they transfer. they turn the page. It’s pretty clear to me that have a laser focus around 4 year high school kids. It’s how they choose to build the program from this point forward.

Agreed. It's what I was beating around the bush about but didn't post. Thanks for the good summary.

Just a reminder about Jacobs- he was the Richmond Times Dispatch player of the year his Senior season at Trinity. He and Wilson are each capable of taking a big step up this season. According to the coaches the bigs are all looking good and in good shape in the pre-season.

In addition to what the article mentions Jacobs often got chances at 3 pointers. He was a pretty good shooter in his prep career and I think his form looks ok out there but he was not very good at hitting those shots. Not sure if it was related to his wrist injury last season but if he can be more effective from 3 it would really give the offense another dimension.

Checks notes.... didn't happen now he's gone.

You are confusing Jacobs with Greg Jones. Jacobs is still very much in the Jmu program- his parents are alum, family attends all the games and his Dad just posted a photo on Twitter with coach Rowe from the coaches caravan.

Checks notes... I can't read.

I'll try this : Hopefully your analysis for his sophomore campaign comes true in his junior season

I think Jacobs is better served inside- needs to get stronger but has some length and can block shots and rebound. I don’t think the stretch 4 thing is going to bear fruit for him collegiately - the shots are there in the offense but I think he has a better flow and feel closer to the basket. Maybe he becomes more capable of the occasional 3 his senior season at Jmu but I think he should just focus on getting stronger and finishing close to the basket this off season. That’s where this team needs his help. We should have more guys who can shoot from distance on the parented next season and won’t need him floating around out there.
