No. He's actually acting out how he will swing from the lamppost. Little did he know it.

do you really think this stops with confederate statues? I'm indifferent about removing them, move or don't i could really care less. However whats next? Lincoln? Washington? Jefferson? Are we gonna get rid of the american flag? I'm pretty sure american Indians and Japanese Americans might have issues with old glory so is it next? At some point this has to end and people need to just move on. A lot of living in the past going on instead of looking in the mirror.

Your concerns have nothing to do with the forces behind this latest manufactured crisis. There are those who want ALL of this country, its heritage and constitution piled on the garbage mound of history right along with these monuments. Most of the idiots doing the heavy lifting for them in these paid for riots have no idea what they are protesting about and like history has shown us in the past they will have no say when their puppet masters have gained their objective.

It has been reported now that the organizer for this white supremacist march was just a couple of years ago a top organizer for Occupy Wall Street with ties to obama. Hmm....

Some might say the same about people defending participation trophies erected during the Jim Crow era to frighten people of color as they were fighting for equal rights.
Time to tear em down, quit living in the past, and move on.

So if people are offended by, say an abortion clinic, it's OK for them to have it bulldozed, using your logic.

Why tear down the statues? Because they are highly offensive to some? So are abortion clinics.
Why tear down the statues? Because they represent killing and suffering of innocents to some? So do abortion clinics.
Why tear down the statues? Because they represent oppression to some? So do abortion clinics. Thousands upon thousands of lives not merely imprisoned, but taken.

You honestly can't tell the difference between a medical facility that is protected by the constitution and provides services to women, and statues of men who fought to tear apart that constitution and the country (and lost) so they could own people? That the battle over women's rights to their bodies has been fought over, time and time again, in court and won, no matter how many times somebody has tried to circumvent it?
That men and women elected by the people of these towns, and the people of these towns themselves, have voted and made the decision to tear down these statues based on... wait for it... the will of the people? These are factors, among many others, you are ignoring to make your false equivalency?
Let's not forget, as well, that there have been plenty of men who were "offended" by abortion clinics who attempted to "bulldoze" one down with a bomb or a bullet to a doctor's chest.

99.6% of those asking to remove the statues today didn't voice an opinion or argument against the statues before Charlottesville. You probably fall into that percentage pool, LES. Nancy Pelosi wants the statues removed from the Capitol now, saying they have always been reprehensible....yet, in 20 years working in the Capitol she has no record of concern with the statues prior to yesterday. Call it what it is, people trying to be popular and liked for a perceived social injustice that didn't exist in their lives until it became trendy on their Facebook and Twitter feeds.... You remove the statues to make people "feel better" that have been offended for all of one week, then change every elementary, middle school or high school name that ties to the confederacy or native Americans. Good luck with that task. Here's an idea, do what good parents do.....explain to little Timmy and little Samantha what the statues represent and how we evolved today as a country and society by learning from our past.....you see, these serve as reminders of our history.....it might not get you "likes" on Facebook but don't worry, something else that you didn't realize offends you will be in the news again shortly.....

So you are in favor of mob rule, anarchy and getting your way any way you can because after all, you are the moral authority? OK.

I live in New Orleans. I think I've had this conversation a time or two before now, NGB.
I was on the fence for a little while, but ultimately understood that there is no real reason for these statues to be in place except for confederate apologists, Nazis and white supremacists to have something to be proud of when they look up.
But you feel free to project whatever BS the latest conservative talking head nut-bag came up with in his latest video blog of word vomit about snowflakes and millennials onto me. Cause I'm the one being led like a sheep.
Parents want their kids to remember the glorious days of the south getting it's ass kicked by American soldiers, outside what they may learn in school or a museum, let them pull little Timmy and little Samantha over to their footlocker full of flags and pictures of the great General Should-Have-Been-Shot-Over-The-Massive-F*ckUp-That-Was-Gettysburg Lee.
The South ain't gonna rise again because we're too far up our own asses in the history and heritage of everything we so wonderfully failed at but can't seem to learn a lesson from.
Don't forget to buy some supplements.
